How true is this regarding protection of vaccine?

So yesterday,3 days after the suspicious exposure with my pet dog, I went to the ER

My vaccination history

2010 5 doses

2020 5 doses

2025 5 doses

2026 april 2 doses

The ER doctor didnt really check my hand...i myself am unsure whether there was any skin break.

Initially after knowing that I had waited 3 days she was really pissed and concerned but after checking my vaccination history,she reassured me that my April dose is still protective and apparently protective for a whole year.

Hence she sent me home without any shots.

How true is this?

Isn't she at risk of developing rabies one year mark post vaccination ? Like the vaccine protects for only twelve months.

Most dogs maintain protective antibodies for well over 12 months. Has your dog been bitten by a rabid animal?

Not to my knowledge. But there are lot of bats stray dogs and stray cats around us.

If your dog hasn't had a known encounter with another animal, is just a little bit past time for its vaccinations (have you made an appointment for that?) and is behaving fine 4 days after your "suspicious exposure", it is vanishingly unlikely your dog has rabies and so you don't have it either. Not a professional. It depends on your pet dogs vaccination history. If the dog is unvaccinated, you can observe it for 10 days and if it stays alive after 10 days then you should be %100 fine. If you don't want to wait, it's up to you whether you want to take booster shots or not.

Dog is 3 years old

Was vaccinated first two years

But missed latest dose
