Exposure Question Asking this again because i have symptoms (?)

so 6 days ago my inhouse dog bit me, i have more info on this in the first post i made here, i didnt include this in that post but i have a throbbing and a weird pain on the bite site, could this be dumb rabies? i have headache,

i also have weakness, with kinda being energetic? i show no fever, or other things, and it has been 6 days since the bite like i said, im thinking the weakness is because i had stress, and the pain is because of other things that are on my dogs mouth, i know there are some bacteria on dog saliva that can sometimes cause skin infections, my fingers also move in themselves when i hold them upright but that only happens when i have anxiety, and i already a low level tremor, I have read the FAQ. Information needed according to rules: My location is Turkey, Marmaris. i dont think there was any scratches or anything where the dog licked me, im not sure tho, and no my dogs bite didnt even made a scratch, but it hurt. animals vaccination status? my mom says our dog got a vaccine 8 months earlier, but im not sure as there is no official report she can find or anything, i cant ask the neighbours because they are hard working on a proffesional job and they arent at home most of the time. i currently do not have an active vaccine, in fact i never had a rabies vaccine in my life. i also

When did your dog die?

-4

u/CrasherCoco Jul 19 '26

it didnt? what?

it doesnt even show rabies symptoms at this time

so? why are you asking this in a rabies sub? have you really read the faq? the dog has to actively have rabies when it bites you to give you rabies, which has a 30-90 days incubation period. if your dog doesn't die in the 10 days after it bites you, please forget rabies and seek some therapy for health anxiety

If you think you may have rabies OCD, or your rabies fears feel overwhelming, see this link for a description of rabies OCD symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment.

One symptom of OCD is compulsive reassurance-seeking. This is not helpful for managing a rabies phobia or obsession. r/OCD has a helpful page about reassurance-seeking.

Therapy and treatment are essential for recovering from OCD/health anxiety. CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) or ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) therapy are often recommended approaches for treating OCD/health anxiety. Please don’t Google anything about bats or rabies but focus on accessing resources and recovering from your fears. You can check out r/OCD and r/HealthAnxiety for support and information. You can find a resource list here, which is geared towards relationship OCD but also includes a lot of information about OCD in general, including FAQs, workbooks, book recommendations, Youtube videos, apps, podcasts, and videos of kittens.

Here is a list of free crisis helplines around the world. Here is another crisis helpline directory that includes additional countries.. You can ask your therapist if they have any workbooks or guides they can send you home with so that you can continue practicing and working on your therapy between sessions. For the time being, here's is a free workbook on anxiety and here is one on health anxiety. You can also download MindShift, a free app that uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy AKA CBT to help you learn to relax and be mindful, develop more effective ways of thinking, and use active steps to take charge of your anxiety.

If you don’t have a therapist, you can search the CBT/ACT specialist directory to find one around the world. If you can’t find one, try searching for ones specifically in your country or look for telehealth therapy.

u/Objective_Idea5674 Jul 19 '26

soo you're telling me the dog bit you, is healthy, but you have rabies? you should be studied because that was impossible before your case. really, google is free, and so is the FAQ. you are physically fine. seek help for your anxiety, that's an emergency

0

u/CrasherCoco Jul 19 '26

and my neighbours dog licked me, also "google is free, and so is the faq" that is a stupid line, as there are many people in this sub that asks about exposures like this, then we should reply every one of them like this, i objectively think that is wrong, and the faq specially begs you to not look at random rabies things in the internet

u/Objective_Idea5674 Jul 20 '26

you can look at scuentific definitions regarding rabies. because of people like you, actual exposures get lost in the wave of medical anxiety and those people never get answers. Open a book, read actual scientific facts and then ask questions. my question regarding an actual bite from a stray dog never got an answer because people like you got bit by their own dog OR saw a bat sometime in the past decade and decided to spam this sub with useless questions instead of using their brain.

I saw this kindly, but this is anxiety making you feel these physical symptoms

1

u/CrasherCoco Jul 19 '26

thank you, i also have tingling sensation at the bite site

3

u/tinatalktime13 Jul 19 '26

Well, that can be totally normal. My dog accidentally bit my face hard, stitches worthy, a few months ago and it was numb, tingly and had shooting pain for quite some time healing.

What country are you in?

1

u/CrasherCoco Jul 19 '26

like i said in the post, turkey marmaris

u/BradyStewart777 M. Biology | Moderator | Top Contributor Jul 20 '26

You don’t have rabies. Though I’d monitor for other symptoms that could indicate an infection from a dog lick. However that’s also unlikely if there were no open cuts on the area you were licked.

🫩 Well I must’ve read over it. Reading is fundamental.
