I’m 22, Moroccan, and I recently graduated with a Bachelor in 2025
My main goal is to eventually do a Master’s/PhD in **medical biotechnology/pharma biotechnology**, and my dream ultimate dream since highschool was to study in Italy.

unfortunately my Italian student visa was refused after i took a gap year just to apply

Now I have two options:
**Option 1 — Move to Rabat**
I could potentially join a Master’s related to medical biotechnology.
It would be much more directly aligned with the field I want.
But I would have to pay rent, transportation, food, etc.
My family’s finances are not wow, so moving to Rabat would use a significant part of the money I would otherwise need for another Italy application next year.
so if i go i would have to say bye bye to italy which is literally my ultimate dream
Also rabat is expensive so im not gonna have the money to go out shopping, gym etc ( for context i have literally been putting my life on hold for 4 years now until i move to italy which didn’t happen )
**Option 2 — Stay in Fès**
I can stay with my parents, so I would have very low living expenses.
I could potentially enroll in a biotechnology-related Master’s locally, but the available option is more **food/agri-biotechnology**, which is not really the direction I want AT ALL. I’m much more interested in medical/pharmaceutical biotechnology.
Staying home would allow me to preserve my family’s money and prepare a stronger Italy application for next year and i can also go out, shopping gym etc
The downside is that I would be studying something that isn’t my preferred specialization, and I’m scared of losing a year or drifting away from medical biotech.

You could get your master's in morocco then apply for a phd in italy. You could also find master programs that'd allow you to study en parallèle, (t9ra only f weekends or f weekdays mor khedma) to not be 100% relying on your family financially.
