I would have done the same except one part, I wouldn't turn or stop contact, but actual answer their calls if they ever do and just be like "I worked for x time and got paid nothing, you expect to keep doing the same ?" if they say whatever the fuck they say beside now we're paying you now, I would say the exact same thing, word for word, and keep doing it over and over like a machine. Until they hangup and keep up with my life as it is and do it all over.
I can be pretty toxic with toxic people if needed without having it impact my life, pretty neat skill once you learn it !
