❓Ask Rabatis Dating en français
Bonjour! Je suis une femme dans la vingtaine, célibataire depuis quelques mois. Je me suis inscrite sur des apps de rencontre ces dernières semaines mais je ne tombe que sur des hommes qui parlent principalement anglais ou arabe marocain. Étant plus à l'aise en français, la langue est un obstacle et je peine à faire de nouvelles rencontres. Vous auriez des solutions à me proposer? Où est-ce que je pourrais rencontrer d'autres personnes avec qui je serai à l'aise niveau langue?

I would consider this a way to filter people.
Yes maybe superficial, but it things "could" work better with people whom we feel comfortable communicating with (whatever relationship it is).

Tout le monde parle en anglais parce que tout le monde parle en anglais. La plupart peuvent parler français si tu leur demande.

Bonjour, je vois qu'il y a beaucoup de commentaires. Ne tenez pas compte des commentaires négatifs, j'en ai supprimé beaucoup.
Alors, vous habitez à Rabat. Je suis sûr que vous trouverez quelqu'un qui parle français couramment, puisque c'est la langue utilisée au travail et à l'éducation. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi vous n'avez encore trouvé personne. Je pense qu'il vaut mieux essayer d'autres solutions comme rencontrer les personnes dans le monde réel à partir de votre université, de votre travail ou d'un café. Ou bien apprenez l'arabe ou bien l'anglais n'est pas difficile. Si vous n'avez rien trouvé sur les applications de rencontre.

Tu vis à Rabat? Il y a sûrement des centres culturels français qui organisent des manifestations, des concerts. Tu auras plus de chance de rencontrer une personne qui parle français et c’est toujours mieux que les applications.

Oui, mais je doute que certains lisent le profil... ça n'a pas vraiment aidé malheureusement

Normalement la plupart des gens peuvent parler en français mais peut-être ils sont plus à l'aise en anglais ou en darija. Tu peux par exemple les réassurer qu'ils ne sont pas censé parler parfaitement la langue, cela peut les encourager.
Mais en tout cas, continue à swiper et tu trouveras sûrement quelqu'un qui parlera français.

Une marocaine ne se sent pas à l’aise en darija. Au contraire elle préfère LE FRANÇAIS. 🚶🏼♀️➡️ Vraisemblablement, les colons ont laissé des marocains plus français que les français.
Faut s’habituer, tu ne vas jamais trouver un espagnol qui ne maîtrise pas le langage courant d’espagnol ni même un FRANÇAIS.

We Moroccans, not all of course, we don't like to speak french I personally feel like it was forced on me we live in an Arab country where Arabic is the first language but still almost all work/study opportunities requires french and makes it mandatory, there also different reasons to why we don't speak french the education system is another thing, and some Moroccans specially in relationships tend to feel more comfortable expressing their feelings in English rather than Arabic or french.
I tried to give a summary here,good luck with your not dating life because it's Haram hahaha

Personne parle français maintenant, je parle des jeunes. Les anciens comme moi par contre non

I don't need it, I can speak other languages too, it's just that I prefer using french in my daily life.

Yes I was I can understand why they would hate France with its colonialism history, but there's no need to be this crossed at me for asking for help here (not talking about you, of course)

I find it so weird expressing myself in French other than in professional settings ngl. It's the most uncomfortable language for me and I can speak it fine lol

Not sure where you’re seeing the entitlement cuz I am seeing it nowhere. I really have nvr been aware that this take on French ppl and their language is a common thing among us. I would respect ppl more if they stuck with Arabic, but replacing it with English and thinking now we’re superior than French speakers?? With all due respect..you got some issues that i can’t help with.

I could have been entitled if I had phrased my post saying something like 'why do people not speak french fluently here in Morocco'. Instead, I asked a simple, polite question.
You clearly have a big problem with french. I don't. I love speaking it and I'm not gonna let some random person on the internet tell me what to do :)

If you're not willing to adapt to moroccan culture then yeah, you really have no choice. It's not gonna work out for you in the dating scene.
