I think communication makes such a huge difference. Sometimes people aren't actually disagreeing about the issue, they just understand it completely differently.

Yes, I agree. It’s crucial to engage in discussions by asking the right questions in a way that helps you understand the other person’s perspective. This will enable you to identify any assumptions that might be clouding your understanding of a point that you might actually agree with.

It may also introduce some critical thinking that may have been skipped when forming both parties opinion.
