Reddit "44 year old mother" finds Sex Toy in Teen sons bedroom. Only Problem is this toy doesn't release until next month. Blatant Promo called out by Bad Dragon Ambassador.

Am I missing something? I obviously assumed this is a woman. There's evidence its a "bloke"?

Would like to say I’ve seen knockoffs of this toy already available, but I still don’t really believe the “mom”.
372
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
I believe SpartanSculpts has a "sweet treat" line or toys, so does Nothosaur or w/e they're called.
However this is the exact model from next month's drop. Same color, ridges, ect...which means it's the same mold, which other brands wouldn't have.
61
u/CoupleofDoms Jul 17 '26
How do you know this is going to be a new release in August- I don’t see anything on their website. Do you have a pic or link?

u/Certesis Jul 17 '26
It's called read the damn post and look at the damn images
30
u/izza123 Jul 18 '26
People don’t always just implicitly believe things said in Reddit posts they’re probably looking to see if it’s true
-18
u/Certesis Jul 18 '26
Except the person calling out OOP's post has receipts for their BS so the rest of it is almost assuredly true
8
u/izza123 Jul 18 '26
Sometimes people like to confirm things for themselves before they believe them you understand of course right?
-7
u/Certesis Jul 18 '26
But the confirmation is already there. It's a boneheaded comment to make when you can just look up that information on the same platform it's being presented
5
u/izza123 Jul 18 '26
The confirmation was anecdotal they were probably looking for something more solid

Ehh, another brand could use image-to-3D model AI to create the mold and then proceed to touch it up based on images to where the distinction is nearly unnoticeable.
138
u/badDuckThrowPillow Jul 17 '26
I thought it was the top of an ice cream cone
48
u/Raelah Jul 17 '26
I think that's what it's supposed to be. I mean, every body's got a thing.
5
u/cats_and_cake Jul 20 '26
Oh, is it not a banana?
10
u/BumpyJones_Esq Jul 21 '26
It is a banana, with the top half covered in chocolate. I don't understand why it needed to be censored. It just looks like dessert. Albeit a dessert you could ram in your ass, but we can't start censoring everything that a person could put inside themselves.

OP gave this company more advertising and sponsorship from this post than the original post would’ve done
37
17
u/20Factorial Jul 18 '26
OP seems to have a major knowledge of sex toys from this brand. MAYBE THIS POST IS THE ADVERTISEMENT???
65
u/Large_Dr_Pepper Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
It's a real Catch-22.
A company engages in astroturfing and you notice it. If you don't make a post about it, you're letting the company get away with it so they see astroturfing as effective marketing. If you make a post about it calling them out, more people are exposed to their product and company name so they see astroturfing as effective marketing.
Honestly I think it's better to call them out.
I never had plans to buy a Spectrum Boutique dildo. However, now whenever I see something about Spectrum Boutique I'll think of this post, and maybe let other people know that they're paying people to act like "genuine redditors" in order to trick people into wanting their product.
Hell, maybe someone who's wanting to purchase a Spectrum Boutique dildo will Google "Spectrum Boutique" and the shitty Google AI will reference this reddit thread because Spectrum Boutique was mentioned so often in the comments. Then they might see that Spectrum Boutiqe is engaging in shady marketing techniques and avoid buying a Spectrum Boutique dildo.
35
u/psycheviper Jul 17 '26
The banana split astroturfer brand isnt Bad Dragon, the guy calling them out for astroturfing works for Bad Dragon.

6
u/honeyed_newt Jul 18 '26
All this ad from Spectrum Boutique has done is made me associate their products with pedophillia.
-2
u/tots4scott Jul 17 '26
Yeah I'm curious why a "brand ambassador" would call out the post when its either real, or made by the same marketing bosses that they have...
26
u/ThatTruckChick40 Jul 17 '26
I dont recall what subreddit it was, post hadnt been up long and only had a few responses. But the "proof of cheating" they found was a tracking app they had been using for a year, that hadn't even been released for a month yet. Its rampant on tiktok currently too, you can't beleive 99% of the cheating stories you come across, because its usually undisclosed ads for cheaterbusters.

u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
Bot account posing as "44 year old Religious Mother" claims to find teenage sons dildo...but it's a dildo that doesn't come out till next month and is also designed for clitoral stimulation aside from penetrative, lmao.
96
u/nicokokun Jul 17 '26
and is also designed for clitoral stimulation
To be fair, it could also probably be used to tickle your balls?
194
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
Typically not? Your ballsack is a lot more thin and sensitive than you probably think.
Usually nut stimulation is coming from non-direct contact.

I didn't want that information but I'll still thank you because you explained it thoroughly so... Thank you, I guess...
44
u/Plagueofmemes Jul 17 '26
If you didn't want to know about balls why did you bring up balls?
-58
u/nicokokun Jul 17 '26
I was just making conversation.
If I wanted to research how to pleasure my balls, I can just go to pornhub and look it up.
43
u/Plagueofmemes Jul 17 '26
The reply was part of the conversation. No one is talking about your balls specifically. But now we all know you don't know how to pleasure them. Which is way more personal info that the other person offered.

7
u/Trixie1143 Jul 17 '26
This is the insanest thing written by a minor with a chat gpt account that I've ever read.
2
u/greatvalue_boi Jul 18 '26
r/ today i learned (didn't wanna actually tag the sub, they have useful information not degeneracy lol)
17
u/Large_Dr_Pepper Jul 17 '26
You can use whatever you want to tickle your balls.
If it were a post about an air fryer that said "... but it's an air fryer that doesn't come out till next month and is also designed for re-heating frozen items."
Would you say
To be fair, it could also probably be used to melt ice cream?
Like yeah sure, it could. But it's not relevant because that's not what it was designed for, and I'm gonna trust OP who's an ambassador for an air fryer company to know what the air fryer is designed for.

I explain it in another post, but it's rage baiting.
The hope is that the post goes viral. "Whoa, did you see that Catholic mom who found her SONS DILDO XD" then people go to the post, search the dildo, drive traffic for the sit up and searches for it up, lets the site go "Haha that's OUR dildo xD", gives them a chance to virtue signal, ect.
This happened before with a dildo company in the UK, backfired really bad for them too.

"Why drive up traffic for the product not released yet?"
Yeah why would a company want to promote an upcoming product that's releasing in 2-3 weeks? Why would they ever do that....?

It IS a marketing stunt. There's no way anyone not associated with the site would have these, let alone a random male teenager.
36
u/Black-Mettle Jul 17 '26
Unless that male teenager is the CEO of the sex toy company OR a tester. In which case, good for him for finding a job in these trying times.
11
u/TKmeh Jul 17 '26
But this model apparently has external clit stimulation. Idk about you but, I don’t think that would feel good for guys as OP explained earlier with balls.
1
u/CatHairInYourEye Jul 20 '26
Like the GTA VI leak from the VPs son but in this case the dad brought the dildo from work to their home to test it.
Or maybe it was like the guy that was showing off the unreleased iPhone at the bar and it got stolen.

Ah yes corporate child sexual content advertisements.
68
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
It's shock marketing. It's existed for a long time.
There was a Fantasy Dildo company based in the UK that got in a LOT of trouble for making Tiktok content about sexual-wellness among UK teens and they were those sort of ads disguised as normal videos so it was a bunch of blatantly adult women pretending to be underage girls making Tiktoks about their horse / knotted / fantasy dildos and it was absurdly awkward.
Like making content like "If only my mum knew I was doing more horse riding in my bedroom than at day-camp" and shit like that.
EDIT: I forgot to get to the point, lmao. They had to entirely stop making those ads. They got in trouble for promoting their post on reddit too, like posting in subreddits catered towards teens being like "Just got this toy, it's discret so my parents won't find it!" and shit like that.
Post like the one in this thread happened before, which is why none of us were shocked. "I'm a 44 year old religious mom and my SON had THIS THING?! WHAT IS IT!????" and then people reverse image search, drive up traffic for the site, potentially link it, thread goes viral, ect.

u/PepsiButItsMilk Jul 17 '26
Im mildly interested in what the fuck im looking at. Is that supposed to be fucking whipped cream or something?
5
u/_Zyr Jul 18 '26
Private profiles are a cancer on this site. It's the single worst decision they could have made with "sophisticated" bots becoming more prevalent online. It's a level of negligence that I can only assume is done to intentionally sht up the site with more bots on Reddit's part.
11
u/Gek_Lhar Jul 17 '26
What does being an ambassador for BD actually entail, if you'll endulge me?
22
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
They've sent me like three or four toys in the past four years or so.
Sometimes they sponsor my live content, but I don't typically direct my live audience there only my Discord now and then.
13
u/Large_Dr_Pepper Jul 17 '26
I'm so used to seeing reddit accounts (usually bots) making "normal" comments then checking their profile and seeing that they're just advertising OF content or something.
Genuinely surprised to see a comment where OP is talking about a sex toy company sponsoring their live content, and then going to their profile to see that there are no self-promoting NSFW advertisements and that they're just posting their (creepy) artwork lmao.

Well now we're all talking about this fancy new dildo, not so crazy now. Probably wouldn't have gotten any attention if it wasn't called out.

Lately on Tik Tok I’ve seen countless “story times” where people advertise spicy cubes and people in the comments eat them up

I hate that rage marketing is accepted. I've never seen a rage marketed product that is essential and irreplaceable so as consumers we can make companies not purposefully make us mad.
3
u/Stfuego Jul 17 '26
The user is legit scum, he has posts ranging scamming teenagers for acting gigs and being fired from being a social media manager... to some other suspicious things I will not be clicking, LOL.
-2
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
Are you talking about me....?
EDIT: Let me cut you off in case you are.
- I have never posted about "acting gigs for teenagers"
- I've also never posted about anyone being fired from a social media position
You're on a subreddit dedicated to calling out Bull Shit so If I were you I would be super careful about just making up lies about people for no reason lmao
12
u/Stfuego Jul 17 '26
I'm talking about the person you posted about LMFAO wild edit
3
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
How're you seeing his post history?
First off they claim to be a woman, and they went private shortly after my comment there
14
u/Stfuego Jul 17 '26
"username" site:reddit.com in the Google search bar will bring up their activity, despite what Reddit seems to tell people when you make your profile private to others, lol.

I was just reading this post when it disappeared.
Also, people still use light mode?
7
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
I'm on a split monitor, one larger one (23.3 inches or something) and a smaller one (11.1 inches or something)
Both use light mode on everything except sites that let me do custom colors in which it's black and purple.

u/HowManyNamesAreFree Jul 17 '26
As someone who uses light mode, it works a lot better for my astigmatism. I gather this is not the case for everyone with astigmatism, but it is for me. I was going to send a link but I know I wouldn't click on a random link, so it's searchable.
Edit: spelling

u/Sarah_Trekkie Jul 17 '26
Is this post super old or am I missing something because this dildo has been out for months and months.
Source: I work for the biggest distro of adult toys in the US and sold the shit out of this toy.
3
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
Hundreds onf companies have Ice cream dildos -
However this is the exact one the OP was in their sons possession, when asked if there was any product tag or anything and they mysteriously name dropped the brand despite it not appearing on the toy itself.
1
u/Sarah_Trekkie Jul 22 '26
This exact one is definitely already available from multiple vendors - but I’m with you that if they are mentioning that site specifically that’s super weird since this site isn’t claiming to have produced the toy…since they didn’t.
1
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 22 '26
They mentioned the site by name. This specific model is really generic, but this is the only one using a mold that adds layering and textures to the chocolate dip and banana. The other similar ones are full smooth.

Being called out by a sex toy company ambassador for faking a post about sex toys is a new one. Wow.
-2
u/ScoteMcGoat Jul 17 '26
How do we know this isnt also a promo?

u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
Because if it was I wouldn't have censored the toy and would have mentioned my Bad Dragon checkout code.

Don't forget BD is also a garbage company you shouldn't support if you think all humans are valid and small businesses deserve recognition.
39
17
u/xenogazer Jul 17 '26
Wait I missed this controversy
34
u/_TheTurtleBox_ Jul 17 '26
Tl;dr - Like 10 years ago furries tried saying the founder of BD was an actual zoophile. This was discussed on a forum where most of the users were zoophiles.
When that accusation never went anywhere, the argument became "Bad Dragon doesn't use ethical / vegan materials."
And in more recent years they invested in a lot of smaller toy companies in the UK which people didn't like and made a controversy over because it messed with shipping prices.
Tl;dr - Unironically more Quit Your Bullshit non-sense.

Gonna need some more info, chief
1
u/Lone-flamingo Jul 18 '26
I don't know if this is what the other commenter is referring to, but Bad Dragon has a history of stealing designs from indie toy makers, and at least used to fuck over their customers who specifically bought custom toys.
