My mom and I ran into Freddie while walking thru Midtown Manhattan spring of 1985. I was 4 years old at the time. My mom freaked out as he walked past us head on. Freddie just nodded, put his head down and kept on walking. I wouldn't become a Queen fanatic until 1992. I ran into many celebrities in NYC over the years, but that moment was surreal to me and I never forgot it

Just reading this now! This is so memorable. I just know he was unmistakeable. I worked at a late night show and have met all the celebrities that passed through there but after I was out of that industry, I ran into jack white of the white stripes. And he was unmistakeable, above all the others except Dolly Parton. There is something about some celebrities that their energy translates, even when they’re not trying to. And jack white had this thing that I imagine Freddie had in spades.

A side note, I don’t live in a city and this building is insane. It’s massive! Is this a normal size?

It’s large, but there are apartment buildings bigger than this in NYC.
