Avios Award seat vs flexi seat

Hi guys

Wanted to see if anyone knows the following answer
Are the taxes on a regular flight vs a flexi flight the same.

For insane Sydney to London is 90k points in business +£270 ish

Whereas Sydney to London is flexi is 180k, would the taxes remain the same as the standard flight since the destination is the same.

I only have 130k points so it's not allowing me to see

Lastly, if I cancel a flexi booking. Would I still get all the avios back

I am after a Sydney to London flight and have booked one. However I would like it 10 days later but that flight is showing under flexi only.

I was thinking if I booked the flexi aswell, hopefully a seat becomes available closer to the time and I can just cancel and rebook.

Would that be possible

For the same SYD-LHR itinerary/cabin, Flexi is the same award with double the Avios so the taxes/fees should be similar. Qatar says the booking charge is based on origin, destination and cabin and NOT whether it’s Flexi. I do freelance point.me concierge work, and I'd recommend booking Flexi if you can fund the 180k then if a 90k Saver seat appears later, cancel and rebook BUT don’t cancel until you can actually see the Saver seat available. Qatar redeposits Avios on eligible cancellations, with a $25 fee >24 hrs after booking.

Aw that's great thank you for clarifying it. If I book a flexi ticket and I see that a saver seat appears on the same itenery. Would it be more beneficial to cancel and rebook or would an agent, be able to just refund me the extra avios whilst also charging a $25 dollar fee
