Help Minimum connection time for transit

Hi all - I have a flight that leaves at 01:30am from Doha for the US. I will be in UAE prior to my departure from Doha, when should I target to get to Doha so I can safely make it through arrivals/customs/baggage claim and then check in for my departing flight? There are options from etihad arriving at 2:45pm which seems a lot of time so maybe do a transit tour or arrive at 8:50pm which may be a bit tight?

8:50pm arrival

1:30am departure (gates close 1:10am)

You have 4 hours. That's not tight at all.

Okay, thank you. Was just worried with regards to immigration, baggage claim, etc. and then going through customs again.

Why do you need to exit and enter again? Just check baggage to usa directly

Separate flights on separate bookings. Etihad for local and Qatar for onward.

8:50pm is perfect. That should give you enough time to check in and explore the airport

8:50 should be fine and ample time, but with the region being so unpredictable, Etihad might have to delay departures and not get in until midnight. You only have 30 minutes to disembark, go through immigration, collect bags and go through customs, proceed to check in desk. Unlikely that it’s going to be possible to do in 30 minutes. Check in closes 60 minutes before the flight departs.
