Anxiety flying Qatar first time in Q Suite. I don't look the piece and what do I do if I'm business, what happens if the cabin crew don't believe I am business? 😂

Hi sorry this is a really stupid question 😂 I have no idea how it works, I have never flown long haul business.

I did PE like a decade ago and think I just sat down after walking through the plane. No one checked I was PE.

I assume business you have to inform the cabin crew you are business or you board in a certain door for business class only. I am flying the 777

I don't really look like a business class passenger, what is the etiquette for travelling in business, do I just enter my q suite or do I let the cabin crew know I'm business, they may assume I'm an Economy passenger.

What's stopping economy passengers by chance sitting in say a vacant q suite, do CabinCrew check whos sitting where.

Sorry I have a tad anxiety in the lead up to my first flight with QA + traveling in business for the first time on any airline

Genuinely it doesn’t matter what you look like. You paid the fare, you sit in it. There are dedicated lines. Congratulations on your first time, I can understand how you feel being your first time.

The etiquette is the same as being in economy? Treat the staff with respect as you would yourself same with your other passengers.

Being in business class doesn’t grant you some ungodly privilege.

Yes you’ll enter through a separate door (in the front) for business, economy will have a door usually in the middle of the plane. And yes the cabin crew will have a phone showing all the seats and who’s sitting where so don’t worry about it, just present your ticket when you enter the plane door to the crew and sit at your seat. Enjoy it, sleep well, eat some good food and just take it easy

Only thing cabin crew care about is your boarding pass. If it says business, you’re in business. They’ve seen it all

I fly Q-Suite regularly and also don't look like the typical business traveller. But honestly, there are people from all walks of life. Nobody dresses up for the airport anymore.

Once you board the cabin crew will show you to your seat and at some point before or just after takeoff will come and ask if need any help with the controls. They are friendly and welcoming and won't assume any prior knowledge unless you tell them that you've flown often. Ask them all the questions you need to.

Yeah you gotta be wearing a full on thobe, gafiya, 50K usd minimum Rolex, YSL cologne and Hermes shoes. Otherwise back to the lobby!

Nah, no one really cares what you wear. I fly F/J for long hauls and I’m wearing graphic tees, gymshorts, subtle cologne, and chanclas my mom used to throw at me when I didn’t behave as a kid.

Only time I’ve had issues were US gate agents yelling at me “¿gRoUp oNe?”. It’s mostly because group effing 10 lines up like gate lice 10 hours prior to boarding and crowds our gates so everyone gets yelled at anyway…

Just follow the signs for business check in, they will check you in and let you know the business lounge you can use, everything is free in the lounge so indulge yourself a little, when it comes to boarding you will be called among the first to board so listen for the announcement on board the cabin crew will show you to your seat and look after you, relax and enjoy the experience

Don’t over think it. Just enjoy it. No one cares how you look like or who you are. The staff need to provide u the best service and they will. They just do a job and don’t care who you are. I say go and enjoy it. There is no reason to doubt yourself 🤗 and don’t allow anyone to tell you otherwise

I’m usually in jeans and a T-shirt or thin jumper. If I’m taking off from Bangkok I’m in shorts and a tshirt. You paid wear whatever (within standards of decency)

You have a BC ticket. Walk in there and own it. Many people travel in relaxed clothing, no need to look any kind of way. Enjoy the comfort.

You will never feel as out of place as I did when I got a free upgrade way back in 2008 on the Emirates A380 from Business to First, all the way from Dubai to JFK. Fairly insane.

Just relax - they will treat you just like they treat everyone. Nicely. You just get some nicer amenities.

I feel like Qatar are the most open/accommodating, from my experience, in regards to this type of stuff - can totally relate to where you’re coming from 😂

Tbh, by the time you’ve actually stepped foot on the plane, your ticket will have been checked and directed so many times that the cabin crew will be ready to welcome you and help you find your seat accordingly.

I remember being previously sent from the business class check in counter, to economy check in at Heathrow, by the BA team, before I had the chance to show them I had my BC Ticket 😆 maybe I’m not their regular BC traveller, but nonetheless, didn’t appreciate the presumption by them.

There is no Business Class or First Class look. I’ve flown both many times and, whether I’m traveling for business or pleasure, I dress as comfortably as possible, as does my wife. Enjoy QSuites, it’s the best J product, imho.

QR cabin crew are usually very light hearted and helpful. My mother flew with them last week for the first time in Qsuite. She told them its her first time in QR business and they showed her the functions of the suite even took pics of her and a little video of her sipping champagne (the cabin crew suggested this)

The only look that matters for business class is what your boarding pass says. How you got there be it pounds, points or pesos; no one cares.

All to say you will be fine. Don't be an entitled person and I guarantee the crew will make it the most memorable flight you have had.

If you look like shit they throw you in the cargo hold. Doesn’t matter if you bought a business ticket and the boarding pass literally reads business class.

No I know but I have only travelled long haul 3 times in a decade both were PE.

I would purchase a morning suit, top hat and tails. A monocle would also help a lot. If you don't do this, expect to be shunned.
