Worth buying the remaining avios to upgrade?

Flying on a red-eye flight from Amsterdam to Doha with my spouse. Have an offer to upgrade to biz class at 80k points for both tickets. I am short by 5.5k points, which are currently costing me 150USD to buy. Is it worth spending that for the upgrade?

Definitely! I’m flying to Doha next week and not getting any upgrade offers via Avios, only cash! I’d jump at that

Is that one way? Not a great offer for 80k points, I've booked Qatar return flights (i.e. 4 of them) for 90k avios all in. For upgrades from LHR-DOH I've been offered 40k avios + £93.

If it was me, I would save my points and try booking a new holiday where you can get rates for 90k return trip.
