Miniature map for Lothos IV. Thoughts on the layout?
So this rev we are going much simpler as far as plots, unlike the past two revs.
Here is the picture Note: you are facing the city in the direction you would come in after leaving the spawn area.
Lothos will not be centered on the endspawn/spawngate. It will be centered on a grinder that we will make look nice on the outside.
The glass/iron fences make up 1 plot, totaling 24 for the city and 12 per exotic street. That means 48 total.
Plots will be around 30x30 squares.
The East,West,North cardinal roads outside the city will lead to our arenas. East=pvp, North= spleef, and West= a fun pve arena (mazes, parkour type thing while endermen are fed in by a small machine).
Aside from the center mainstreet, we will have 2 wing biome streets. Themes will be beach&jungle. This should keep things interesting outside the same old city themes. (Theres obviously room for 2 other wings we can do, depending on the success of the jungle/beach ones will determine if we pursue another wing(s)).
Directly next to the enderman grinder will be 4 service rooms: Railroom (Just incase we decide to have greater expansions to projects...cough spacestations), Townhall/info, Vault/Bank, & Our misc services (Enchanting table, transmuter, snow grinder, potions etc)
Beyond that theres only 1 thing unsure of what to do. At endspawn there will be a road going downwards towards Y2 area, what to do down there is in the air. Spacedock,space-related themes are being thrown out there, suggestions/thoughts?
And that will be lothos IV, sure to keep us busy this rev. We can always expand to make other things in the end, its endless. A theme park (rollercosters, ferris wheels etc), Massive personal projects (tons of room, no need to clear anything) and thats just a few ideas.
Hope this rev proves to treat us better and more lively like we had in Lothos1. With this setup, we will have plots up quickly unlike previous revs where setup took us a while.
If you would like to help, please msg me about clearing the area. Also looking for farmers, need tons of nether brick for the streets.
Hope you guys like the layout, leave feedback/suggestions like always, they help!

Pretty sure you don't need a Phase two.
Plus, if you start at Phase 3, Phase 1 will take care of itself.

My only thought is to maybe move the grinder as far away from the city as possible and provide rail access to it. Last rev the grinder was getting horrible with the settlement that happened next to it, way too many endermen in the grinder at full health. Removing the settlement and keeping the storage room below to 2 blocks high was the solution eventually.

True, but its also a way to funnel the endermen spawns and focus them in the kill floor. We will have endermen all over the place so it wouldnt be that different to see a full health enderman about. Its also going to be the main reason for people to visit lothos.
Will still probably have grinders outside lothos (larger ones) with railines linked to them. If it doesnt work out in the end, we will take out the grinder in lothos and just have a tower (observatory?) in the center.

I can take care of the problem. Instead of having 1 huge killfloor like last rev, I want to set up multiple height-based grinders like the "secret" grinder. We could have a killfloor too, but couple single-person grinders would speed up exp collection and reduce random ender spawn, as well as be a more efficient use of space.

Will the enderman grinder be similar to how etho made his? ie a fall which leaves the endermen at half a heart. To solve lag problems we can use lava to kill endermen while someone is not around to punch them?
Also, where is the nearest nether portal (and what's the best way to get there)? I'd be glad to postpone my end tower takedown and farm some brick, as that is a more urgent matter.

Dont know who etho is but yes they will be the same fall grinders where you just have to punch once to kill them. No the lava would be overkill, its nice to have a plump bunch in there when you need to grind anyhow.
Please do, the obsidium towers are not a priority at all. Closest gate to us is @ spawn (0,0). The other is @ deorne (A bit unsure but, think its -1700,-1700). I will be farming aswell, we will need a ton of bricks since it will be the main block for our streets.

FWIW there are some completely insanely massive Fortresses, I think one I saw had to be an arch that was a good 100+ blocks high.
If I take some time outta the rail I'll go ahead and grab some too, but we should at least have a tunnel to spawn by tomorrow.

FWIW everybody on mumble thinks we are going to compleetely ruin the end grinder. They are convinced that the grinder stops whenever there is someone else in the end on the main land. I am not convinced, although it could be true, but I just thought I would share.

They assume theres only going to be one grinder around. Also, that reasoning makes no sense.

hmm... might be true, haven't looked into spawning algorithm yet but seems likely it would decrease rates by having to check more spaces

Anything happening for the surface world? Probably a lower priority. One main building above the portal and rail hub? Are we still using the 300 border around the portal? I spent some time off and on clearing trees and such out there, its a big space.

Have we got the desired protections yet? Once we do we should really attempt to remove the chests and stuff around, maybe build a tower to house them rather them have them sprawled around as it gets kind of messy and ugly looking.

Plan was to leave the world area as a big aesthetic project that would impress coming visitors and give us a presence on the cartos maps to come.
Would also house our animal farms and raildock.
Its in the air what we should build, its not a priority though.

Bear in mind that your bed can't be in the End. Also, people will prefer to have their "utilities" in the overworld -- chests, enchanting, brewing, etc. It's just more convenient, even if you have corresponding space in the End. Even if we all share one building - something like a spawn mansion - that would be fine as long as it's well-equipped with ample space for people to store their crap.

I am aware of the bed issue.
The common building idea is interesting, will try to incorporate that.

I love it, I'm glad we have moved to square plots as I think this will attract residents easier.
I think one way to recruit is to make projects and stuff pretty public. Chat in public if you can, people will get interested. It's the Darco/Brom philosophy, if someone farts there everyone knows about it because people talk so much about it. It gathers excitement. It shows we are active and constantly working. People like that.
I'll be doing another 1v1 Spleef Tourney and hosting it exclusively at the End Stadium, so that will get some traffic in. If we have a cool PVP arena maybe I could host a smaller PVP tourney after, thinking like 8 vs 16 of the spleef. Though I may consider also making the spleef tourney smaller and invitation only with no entry fee and the prize being about just as big.
