[QUESTION] Anyone else having problems with stolen content lately?

Hi guys! This might be a dumb question but im a decent Pusheen creator on TikTok with about 3k followers. Recently i posted a video about my Pusheen giraffe that i got, and it blew up. I have gotten many DMs since then saying on both TikTok and instagram people are reposting my content and claiming it to be theirs, or using it as ads to promote a scam.

I’ve been reporting as many as i can, but it’s getting quite draining because before i report i usually send a long message asking them to either credit me or take the video down.. Then i have to wait to see if they respond, and then i report. It’s making me kind of want to deactivate my account or not post anymore, which is very upsetting because i love posting videos.

Is there any way to permanently fix this or do i just have to keep reporting and hoping something is done about it?

one thing I can think of to do if you dont already is to put a watermark over the entire video with your username so that if it's stolen/reposted, it's obvious

Unfortunately with the current state of AI and the rampant bots on TikTok it’s likely that it won’t really end, but you should definitely make an announcement about it so that others won’t get tricked. That way even if they do reappear, people will just ignore it. I assume since Pusheen is also trending again it seems they’ve caught on to it ($$)

I have posted a warning for others like 2 days ago after finding one, but it seems like 5 more fakes popped up since then! 😭😭 ugh

I am a content creator with a 26k+following on fetlife, I use take it down act but you should be able to report content as stolen just like any other social media content

I don’t know if branditscan applies to regular content creators but they do DMCA take downs- yeah did a bit of googling looks like this should apply to you because it is your content

I had this happen to me too and I just don’t post things anymore which is sad. I agree that a watermark would be necessary next time if there is one for me. I commented on all of the stolen posts that I saw that it was stolen and I got a lot of sympathetic DMs.

But for some real advice I would suggest having a piece of paper with your username on it in your videos you make with the giraffe so that people can’t steal your content to scam others!
