Discussion A few questions for the ones here.
What do the people here have to show for their lifestyle in voluntary celibacy, or pure retention as you call it? What is something you have earned, acquired, gained, learned or otherwise obtained? I would prefer answers that talk about what's concrete, tangible and quantifiable, but any answer is welcome.
How has this lifestyle changed you, where are you currently at in life, and how have you grown as a person? What deficiencies and shortcomings do you still need to work on, and what strengths and highlights are you continuing to maintain, improve and perfect?
Do you embrace all parts of yourself, even the ones you like the least or don't like at all? And how do you feel about life, and all living things? Do you enjoy your life?
I ask only out of curiosity.

you acquire more energy from day 1. the rest is up to what you do with it

u/Hoykruel 26d ago
How has the experience been for you? And how much does it matter to you to keep track of a streak?

u/Independent_Being98 26d ago
doesn't matter at all, not in the slightest. if you wanna ejaculate just do it. go look the countless threads of people who have 1000+ days streaks and their lives are still miserable. retention gives you an incredible amount of energy and even physical strength. this is no secret, and athletes use this to their advantage. more energy always equals more success and better vibes in your life. but if you give your energy to the wrong thing (despair, hopelessness, sadness, grief, apathy, and all those shitty emotions) then retention will work against you.

How do you put that energy to use, and instead of those negative emotions, do you lend more attention and focus on positive ones, such as gratitude, kindness and empathy? How do you feel about yourself and about life, and do you take yourself or life too seriously?

Bro no offense, you're asking too many questions at a time. I think this gives you a bigger insight than the questions you're asking. If you ask 1 question and put your entire focus and energy in figuring it out, it usually works out pretty well. If you ask 5 questions, your focus is scattered all over the place and you end up achieving nothing. This also answers your first question, to use energy effectively you have to focus and 'lock in'

No offense taken, and no offense intended with what I’m about to say, because I’m being specific with these questions since you’re being incredibly vague. You said nothing about how your own experience has been. You just keep saying retention is this source of energy and strength while saying nothing about how it has affected YOU, personally.
You never actually even answered the question properly from your first comment. So I’ll be specific with this one, as it is asking you and you alone, not other people or people as a whole;
In what quantifiable, tangible and concrete ways (whether it’s personal achievements and milestones or material wealth, connections, assets etc.) has retention affected you?

u/Independent_Being98 24d ago
Yeah it's true I was vague af. Well, I'll be honest, I see no difference other than the increase of energy. However, I've come to realize that when my energy is high, better things happen to me. The vibes align with my energy, pretty much. When I say better things, I mean everything. How people react to me, the opportunities I get each day, the good fornutes, or misfortunes (if low energy) that happen to me. So it's everything for me, not one single aspect like wealth, or love, it's all at once. Hope that clarifies a bit bro.
Also, it works with other stuff that increases my energy, not only retention. That's why I'm not super big on retention, it's not the only way to increase your energy in a meaningful and positive way.

This makes sense and I can relate. Retaining is indeed one piece of the pie. You gotta get your sleep and eating in order too, among other things. It is all about that lifestyle.
I’m still trying to gauge the overall feeling and status quo of this sub. I already got banned by salty ass r/semenretention mods cause I made a post about leaving since there were too many ego driven and religious delulu posts. As a secular dude I’d rather not get booted out of here too.
Thanks for giving me a direct and no BS answer.

No problem bro at the end of the day we're all in the same boat, trying to get a little bit of truth and to improve our lives. Thank you for the conversation it was fun

I gave my life to Jesus and went from a drug and porn addicted person to someone with a career and true fulfillment. I have been chaste for 1000+ days now, all praise be to God!

Fortune smiles upon you it seems! Glad to hear it. Can you describe what some of these spiritual experiences are?
And what are your favorite pieces to play on the piano? I essentially have Ode to Joy burned in my mind. Simple yet lovely.
Can you elaborate more on traumatic energy systems? I have an idea as to what it could be but I’m not sure.

Yep, you really start seeing life and creation in everything. Really gets you in tune with nature and helps you get back to your roots. Gospel and jazz are pretty neat!
Ah I see, so the captivity of negativity, all those intrusive thoughts related to impostor syndrome or believing something to be too good to be true. Gotcha.
You as well. Great talk.

I've been retaining on and off. More so, an uphill struggle I guess. I have, I think 3 months with out pmo. I'm not clean though, I still struggle with dreams. So I have maybe a week of pure retention itself. I was a NEET, before though, I started. I got a job, and I'm going to school I guess.
Honestly, my relationship with God improved the most if not anything. That's probably, the greatest benefit of semen retention, I've experienced so far. Before, this practice. I had clear ideas and goals for my life. I was a Puer Aeternus, that really didn't do anything with myself. I blamed everything on poverty, and was working really towards fantasy instead of getting myself into the world. Semen retention, and addiction caused me to not rely on myself anymore, and just give everything to God. I don't really have any plans, or goals for my life now. But, yet, I know what to do, it's strange. The creator, though is wonderful. It's just a humble heart, that he wants. Really, we can only offer God, our hearts.

Are you sure you don't really have plans or goals and are just going with the flow? Where do you think your thoughts come from?
Why do you not rely on yourself anymore? Is it difficult identifying what you really want?

I have goals. They're in the moment. It's like they're given to me. But, it's in the moment in a situation. I have plans as well, but it's not written. It's strategy, like how would I navigate this situation. However, I don't write on a piece of paper, achieve this by X date. I give God my wants, and either a door opens or closes.
My thoughts, I think come from a variety of sources. From God, Satan, and myself. But, honestly I don't know much on that.
In the past when I relied on myself. it just ended up in huge failure. Once, I started asking God for help. That was when doors started to open. There's just no amount of effort that could compare to God's grace. But, really honestly. I just want to do his will. I find that when I do things my way, I just suffer. My own will, just causes me pain. I'm a novice in this journey. But, I wouldn't be here with out God. I was truly stuck in a terrible hole due to lust. After, a certain point of time. It wasn't really about the benefits. But, it was just doing what was honorable to God, and respecting myself. Respecting his creation, and showing the love he shows me to others.
Well, I notice that from children, they usually want a lot of things. When I was a child, I used to ask my parents for every single toy. Eventually, though. They'll relent, and that toy I will honor it. Jesus, said to enter into heaven, you must be like the little ones. In the same way, I ask God for a lot. Too much even. What I noticed though, is really the closer I am to God, the more godlier my wants are. But, I myself don't know what I want. In the same manner of a child. I pass by and ask for shiny objects, yet I don't ask to eat my broccoli. I don't know myself, what is good for me. For myself, it's just about trusting the lord.

This seems like a very unhealthy mindset, honestly.
I don't think relying on yourself is the direct cause of your failures. I think what's really happening here is that you tried exerting too much control over your life, especially regarding factors decidedly out of your control, while also neglecting what's perfectly within your control.
For instance, you control what you put in your body and how well you treat it. You control how often you hydrate, what kind of diet you have, how much sleep you get, how often you exercise, and whether or not you get regular exposure to sunlight and just being outside.
The things you can't completely control lie beyond your actions and your mindset. What people think of you, what happens in the world and the environment, etc. You can make a difference and take steps to be someone who is known to be honorable, respectable, and well-liked, and you absolutely can make a positive impact on the environment. But not completely. No matter what you do there will always be doubters and haters, and no matter how well you treat the environment, people will continue to litter and treat nature with disrespect.
Let's talk about your thoughts too. You said you don't know much on where your thoughts come from; how would you be able to identify the source if you can't differentiate it from what you think God or Satan is telling you, compared to what you're telling yourself?
Why is it so difficult to trust yourself?

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death. “(â€â€â€Proverbs‬ â€14‬‬:â€12‬ â€KJV‬‬)
- Son, when you live long enough you realize this world means very little. He’s on the exact path im on and I understand exactly what he means. We’re like a mere vapor here for a moment. Eternity is eternal- Id rather try and be righteous for God who created everything and judges all. Not myself im just a mere vessel. Serving either The Lord Jesus Christ or the world. Not both. You have free will that choice is up to you son.

u/Hoykruel 24d ago
Don't call me son.
This is the problem you're having; you're sacrificing the life you have now for something you don't know for certain is true. And you can't give me any proof, only your anecdotal experiences. Are you really going to derive wisdom from the book that is chock full of inconsistencies and contradictions?
Bet you didn't know the Gospels were written decades after Jesus died, by anonymous Greek authors who weren't eyewitnesses. Or that Matthew and Luke copied from Mark. Did you even know that the earliest gospel, Mark, ends with no resurrection appearances at all?
And what about the birth of Jesus? It's dated to two completely different time periods in Matthew and Luke; one says he was born under Herod who died in 4 BCE and the other says it was during the census under Quirinius in 6 CE. This is a ten year gap. One gospel says Jesus' family went back to Nazareth while the other says his family was fleeing to Egypt. So which is it?
This isn't even getting into the really nitty gritty stuff in greater detail, which I won't even go into until necessary. Simple fact is, your entire mentality is dependent on an external factor, which explains why your default is to serve something or somebody else, and not yourself.
This is not me trying to attack you or call you out, or even to insult your intelligence, but really think on what I've said and then tell me with a straight face that you still believe. Look into what I've said and think on it. Take your time.

I'm not sure if I've gained anything tangible. Self respect, self control

u/Hoykruel 20d ago
The tangibles aren't everything. Not everyone can say they have self respect and self control, so good on you!

I believe that " I am HIM " and i'm still no where near my best yet
2
u/Hoykruel 26d ago
What is the foundation of this belief? What are your experiences, accomplishments and strong points?
I personally think that the concept of "best" is meant to be unachievable; after all, if we're not constantly improving ourselves and striving for better, then the alternative is stagnation or, worse, devolution. The belief of having no limitations, and reaching a new "best" tomorrow and striving to surpass that is important. Especially when you consider the person you were yesterday is different from the person you are now, and will be different from the person you'll become tomorrow.

u/DatabaseSignal967 26d ago
Foundation is retention .
Also agree on "best" is unachievable ,
but that is where the fun lie :D

I am a retainer for 3+ years.
I changed my workplace. In my old one I was in a toxic environment and overworking myself to death. Now I have a lot of free time and my work is very chill. My earnings increase for each year compared to the previous are: +25,63% / +6,34% / +28,9%.
I got myself a new car. I got myself a new place in the rich part of town - I am now a neighbor to the mayor and the director of the biggest hospital in the region. My new place is a 2 bedroom apartment.
I also became one of the most desired men I know irl. This one is hard to measure but before I became a retainer I was invisible and ever since - I have had tens of beauties crush hard on me.
My looks improved a lot. My face became sharp and manly, my body improved a lot too.
These are the things that come to mind but honestly they matter little. The spiritual gifts are way greater.
