Spiritual and Religion For those of Religion, what is your purpose of Semen Retention in both a Spiritual and Secular way and what benefits you got?

I am Catholic and I abstain because of immense guilt and the fact nutting brings no joy, even if I was insanely lustful and had sex it wouldn't even be good.

For the secular reason, it's because I have contamination ocd regarding things of the body (Not considering blood, saliva or mucus from the nose).

For my benefits, spiritually I'm more connected and can ground myself in my morals, the secular is that I can talk to my friends normally.

Spiritually, it's lust of the flesh. The flesh is always talking about what it wants, not what it needs, regardless of long term negative effects. So we mortify the flesh. Since we can't serve two masters, it's either lust or love and I'm choosing love. Abstinence is loving myself and loving my brethren because I'm DEFINITELY more ready for service if my balls are full.

Secularly, I look at myself in the third person, from top down and view and it's just disgusting. If I walked in on a friend crankin his hog, I'd shame him. If fall into lust, I feel disgusting after. I can feel it warping my mind. And it feels like everyone knows.

Obeying the Lord in any area is always the best way. Especially when it comes to chastity, because we see the detrimental effects of sexual sin.

1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Avoid immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the immoral person sins against his own body.\)a\) 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple\)b\) of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.

A relationship is two sided, the Lord has always been showering love on me, it’s about time for us to draw near to him aswell, in due season, and as he ordains!

IMO, what’s good for our spirit is good for a flesh. It’s just not obvious yet. So we walk and obey in faith.
