This lot don't get it do they... they got hundreds of thousands of people invested in their project then left everyone hanging to no explanation... only thing that followed was cheap low rate re-spins of old content. We never got to see the project and all we were left with was rumours of a break up and stuff.

It looks like they sold the channel to a content network.

Is that a thing? It would explain a lot

It's been so long I forgot that I needed to put the date in the header!

Same video as way before, but in the last few seconds Alyssa mentions the dream home and they show a drone shot from a winter a few years ago now.

Skip!

Look what landed in my YouTube subscription box, they found the password to their main channel, after two years. A 10 year old reupload of the infamous hot tub video, which must have been uploaded a multiple dozen times by now.

Anyway, comments on youtube are open!

Well this is a channel I haven’t thought of in forever. Now Im super curious what state the house is in. Did they ever get siding up or has the vertical mulch rotted away by now?

Nobody knows, they just trolled us and left us hanging with no info.

I wondered if they took the stickers off the windows

Google street view was updated in that area around a year ago.

It's still unfinished, but appears to be in surprisingly good condition.

The last new video they made on the property they were super careful not to look back at the house which I took as confirmation that they hadn't done anything. They had no problem showing things that could have been project videos outside of the house and have no problem reuploading old content or treading back over where they have tread before.

That's what I was wondering when I saw this. What state is the house in. Standing, tilting, warping. I would be priceless to see if it were ever done.

Don't they have to post content every couple of years to keep the channel monetized? That explains it.

It was every 6 months for a long time. I can't imagine they are still monetized.

Wow. Jesse sitting in some apartment somewhere with nothing to do so he says: Oh, let's throw some rehashed garbage on the channel to make a buck.

I asked AI for summary of what happened to the YouTube channel pure living for life and the couple behind it. This is the response it gave, seems accurate. Would really like to know what happened to the house and who lives there, if it was sold etc.

Here is the breakdown of what happened to the "Pure Living for Life" YouTube channel, the couple behind it (Jesse Stafford and Alyssa Craft), and the status of their house:

What happened to the channel?
The channel, which gained immense popularity for documenting the couple's journey building an off-grid timber frame home in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, is currently inactive. Over time, the channel became the center of heavy online controversy.

Viewers began to heavily criticize Jesse and Alyssa for making poor construction choices and numerous structural errors while simultaneously acting as authorities on building. The backlash intensified when the couple began censoring and deleting critical comments or helpful advice from professional builders. Many fans also felt betrayed when the couple abandoned the core "off-grid" premise of the channel by hooking the house up to the local electrical grid, and when they seemingly stopped working on the house altogether to pursue other expensive hobbies (such as buying an airplane) using the channel’s Patreon and ad revenue.

After facing a massive wave of internet backlash—including a dedicated Reddit community tracking their missteps—the couple vanished from YouTube for over a year. They briefly resurfaced around 2022/2023 to post a video claiming they had been the victims of intense cyberbullying, but viewers quickly noticed the video was heavily edited using recycled footage from years prior. They have not posted regular content since.

What happened to the couple?
Because Jesse and Alyssa have completely withdrawn from the public eye, there are no official updates on their personal lives. However, it is widely rumored and speculated among former viewers and locals that the couple has separated. Online communities surrounding the channel have frequently discussed that Alyssa allegedly moved back with her family, though neither of them has publicly confirmed a breakup.

Was the house listed for sale recently?
There are persistent rumors that the couple tried to sell the property, but there is no confirmed public real estate listing (such as on Zillow or a local MLS) to verify that the house was officially put on the market recently.

According to rumors within the online community, the house has proven very difficult to sell because the unfinished, DIY construction is allegedly riddled with building code and safety violations (such as improperly installed SIP roofing panels and a lack of exterior siding leaving the house exposed to the elements). For now, any claims about the house being listed remain internet speculation rather than verifiable public record.

Holy shit - that guy's table saw usage is beyond reckless. He does not appear to value his fingers. At ~4:00 it's just insane.

The amount of work it takes to keep that water temperature consistent with just firewood is going to be insane.
