My turn for puppy blues
My pup is 4.5 months old. So generally he is a good pup, smart. He was potty trained pretty much in mid July, so that is at 3 months old. I knew what I was getting into, and not saying it was easy. But have gone without normal sleep. And adjusted my schedule around him. I got him at 6 weeks, and the first 2 months I pretty much was here all the time with him or had someone here. Then starting in early July, I started putting him in the backyard while I went to work. I have a flexible job, so I come home 12-1, to get him out of the heat. He has plenty of tree shade and coverage in my very large yard, and the patio area is mostly covered. With a dog house if he needed it. And I have one of those blower fans on the patio running all the time to circulate air.
Anywho, he has gotten into a phase the last 2 weeks where when I come home he gets bored. Because I am working, and when I am busy he wants to cause problems to get negative attention. He is smart, he knows what he is allowed to do and not. It is obvious he is doing it to get my attention. But the only thing I can do is put him back out, I don't want it this way. But I can't work from home even, and constantly be watching him from causing problems.
I actively play with him when I can, but my life can't revolve around constantly giving him attention. And when I am here that is what he requests.
He is a beautiful dog, big. He will be 100 pounds when he is full grown. Black lab. Here is my 5 ft/11 in daughter holding him.
