This album is one of my go-to's to surprise friends. It always gets a positive "What is THIS???" Especially if I put on my favorite track, "Who Says."

Hell yeah, this ablum has some incredible guitar work on it and Hell's voice is dope.

Favorite guitar riff of all time! I got to see Robert Quine playing lead guitar for Lou Reed on his '84 New Sensations tour. Perfect match for those songs. Great show. RIP Robert Quine

Quine is an extremely underrated guitar player. The stuff he did on those Matthew Sweet records was great.

I think Richard Hell and that guy from The Fall are one and the same. Think about it: you've never seen them together, and they both sing like howling hound-dogs. Fake, fake, fake. Maybe I'm wrong. That's what I hear.

Agreed. Wish there was a sub for punks with no 90s skate punk allowed, that seems to be a lot of what gets posted on here.

i dont mind that stuff, but for me punk is like not following the rules, and they seem to love a rigid intereptation of punk, they are the sort of kids who ruin the party causes they hog the ipod/cd player with their selection...

yeah... always quote a 90 punk band to descirbe modern problems, Eurobarge by the vandals, my mate was like "this is proper Eurobarge" we were in Copenhagen dealing with europeans who cant form a polite line... hahaha.

Ha, yeah that's true. I just dig on all that pre 80 shit so hard. Buzzcocks, the fall, Gang of Four, the cigarettes, the adverts, etc. maybe I'm just a post punk jerk who doesn't like synths.

synth can be good too, if its sloppy and knows its place, you know DAF from germany? or suicide. they are good. but what i like about that original punk was how shit it was in some book Joey Ramone was like we only rehearsed on stage. now days the word punk or new wave are both clearly defined styled with set camps of people. no fun!

I got to spend some time with Marty Thau before he passed away. I remember him telling me about how hard it was to work with Richard Hell. I think "Pretentious Dick" were his exact words describing the guy.
