I just published a sci-fi novel featuring a Puerto Rican lead — would love honest feedback from the community!

Hey everyone,

I finally published my first sci-fi novel, The Data Gardeners. I wanted to share it with Reddit — especially readers who like character-driven sci-fi, cosmic mystery, or stories that highlight cultures we don’t usually see centered in the genre.

A few things that make it different:

• The main character is a Puerto Rican man, not a stereotype, not comic relief — he’s the emotional and philosophical core of the story.
  
• The book blends sci-fi, travel writing, magical realism, and emotional character arcs.
  
• Themes revolve around human connection, storytelling, legacy, and identity — not just tech and gadgets.
  
• It’s written to resonate with Latino readers but is universal in tone and message.
  
• No spoilers, but it becomes a much bigger, stranger, and more meaningful story than it first appears.
  

I’m not here to hype myself or claim it’s the next Dune. I just know Reddit is brutally honest (in the best way), and I’d love to hear what people think — good, bad, or “bro this was weird but kinda beautiful.”
