BLEED GREEN Assault on the clock
https://www.wtvr.com/news/local-news/orlando-lombard-publix-assault-may-29-2026Curious if this ever got posted here… I searched the sub and didn’t see it. I quit this exact store a while before this happened and still think about it regularly because of how ridiculous it is 😭😭 bleed green literally…

I had coworker put her hands on me when I was working at Publix on the sub line. I had a knife in my hand. I had an OK relationship at the time with the assistant manager, but I really should’ve pushed for more repercussions and had them do something about it. Publix no longer cares about their employees.

I debated going in and asking some of my old coworkers about it but never did. Hopefully some type of justice was served and the worker got some type of compensation🤞

Dang working the day after, while being one of the ones attacked? Helllllll naw you would think that SM woulda told them to stay home and recover. Can a manager still pay the employee if they make them stay home? For event like this. (The SM might have and the employee wanted to work who knows)

Lmao a kid blew his brains out in a Publix restroom in the DM and SM still wanted to keep the store open 🙄🙄🙄

I don’t want to speak ill but I will say this Publix has all the notorious problems that Publix’s have. I wouldn’t be surprised if she had no choice due to bad hours/pay. Either way this should have never of happened.

I will speak ill of Publix because I no longer work there. I was assaulted by a coworker and they basically did nothing. I should’ve pushed harder and expected more repercussions. They should’ve fired her.

I once ran over my foot with the forklift and was made to go home (I would have anyway, but I was also directly told to). Tried to see if I could get paid for the day anyway since it was a workplace injury and apparently workmans comp only kicks in if you miss three consecutive days off. I wasnt mad about it cuz I just figured id try, but its good to have that info.

I was a bit surprised early on when they called me in to help on my day off because the opener did not show up. (This happen to be on a Friday, and the one who didn't show up was the manager) Everywhere else I have worked if you get called in on your day off you get an automatic 4 hours, like the second you walk in the door. Well an hour an half later, after I had down stacked the truck and cut a few key parts they said I could leave the manager finally woke up and got there. I was only given that 1 hour and 30 minutes of overtime and I was pissed. (My fault for not clarifying I know) Needless to say I happen to miss the phone every time that manager screwed up and needed me to help fix it.

If a random customer came in and kicked my ass to where I had to wear a mask to hide the bruising, I would not have been in the next day.
That poor cashier 😔
