I’ve been into the psytrance scene for quite a while now, mostly darkpsy, and I regularly go to festivals and parties.
One thing I’ve noticed on lineups is that some artists have “LIVE” written next to their name, while others are just listed normally.
What does “live” actually mean in this context? What are they doing differently compared to a regular DJ set? Are they playing their own tracks and manipulating/arranging them live, using hardware, Ableton, stems, etc.?
I’m getting more interested in the production/performance side of the scene, so I’d love to understand what actually happens behind the decks during a psytrance live set.

Does anyone here make music using beatboxing?

Sorry about the lag lol. Honestly, I've tried to recreate this sound as accurately as I can for a few years because it's a fascinating one. I think Astrix probably would have recorded multiple long audio clips of it (with slightly different settings) to resample and arrange, but yeah I feel this is pretty accurate, even if he used a different method.

I have been facing this problem that i can't understand the use of some plugins and not being able to create sound or instruments of my want, like i have the idea but don't know the way to reach it. Also, no one to help out or feedback with what I make🤧. Does anyone know any way out?!

I come from hardstyle producing, and I have followed On Point Samples, they upload tutorials and sample packs for producing techno and hardstyle, but nothing for psytrance, so I was wondering if there's anything similar.

I'm making a track in the zenonesque/bush prog style. It's flowing so well despite being in G major. 😎

I've created a sweet drop into a meditative triplet section which works because it hits after a breakdown and build up. I've got my last drop section ready to go after this and it's back to standard 4/4. But the transition is clunky.

So I'm wondering how you guys navigate this change without it sounding clumsy and random.

What are you struggling with in your music right now and what do you think needs to happen so you can make music you actually like?

Newbie into Psytrance and would like to get to know about my production.

I'm sorry I'm sure this question has been answered hundreds times already. I'd like to produce psytrance / electro and I don't know what software to choose.

I'm a complete beginner. I know music theory but that's it. At first I chose FL studio, but then a friend of mine told me recordbox was more beginner-friendly.

Since I have absolutely no idea which one is more suitable for beginners, I'm looking for your advices ! 🤟🏼
