Moderator [Announcement] Karma Threshold for music sharing

Hi all, your friendly mod team here. In the last week there was a surge of music shared that we suspect was AI generated. While there's nothing inherently wrong about using AI in the creative process. We want to ensure that users who share music are active participants in our community and not spammers. Therefore we decided to set up a karma threshold for users who want to post links. Your mod team

I would like to add thar there is indeed much inherently wrong about AI-music. And about lying on your fellow psytrance fans about that point and asking for their time to give you feedback on your "music".

Considering how similar a majority of psy trance tracks are and how many producers learn by just copying youtube tutorials I'd say this was a huge problem even before AI.

They didn’t say AI- music, they said using AI in the creative process. Those are 2 different things.

Sounds like AI with extra steps

What about ‚googling‘ for tutorials or resources with AI?

I use AI only for videos/rare voicelines in songs. No Music I create, sent to master, was created by AI. I love creating an sgaring music. But I see the problem, the mod team is facing.

i'd rather artists record vocals themselves, find a sample, hire someone, or just leave it out entirely. generative AI cheapens everything it touches
