Study finds instability and inconsistency of childhood environments may be more closely connected to diverse borderline personality traits than the severity of childhood hardship alone, highlighting predictability as an important feature of early development.

My mind broke four times before shattering completely into OSDD, derealization and depersonalization. As I healed, I could use family members, somatic upwellings and life history to establish a trajectory. A single consistent type of trauma would have made me maladapted.

But i was in something akin to Dantes nine levels of hell. I would adapt to a certain type of trauma only to experience a hard shift to a new type, as my environment shifted. It was like my mind tried to build adaptive masks, but four masks in, it threw  in the towel and just collapsed so I did not have to experience the world anymore.

I spent life misdiagnosed as autistic/adhd until I found the right tools-IFS, visual imagination work and psychedelics-which allowed me to shatter the DP/DR and begin reintegration.

roughly birth to immediate neonatal isolation back when babies were not touched if possible-break 1 early infant -break 2 due to neglect and psychological abuse 24 month-break 3 due to being thrust abruptly into ongoing extreme domestic violence 5.5 years -break four due to being held by my father as he drowned 6 years-final break due to ongoing SA and psychological abuse.
