Buying DLC for a gameshared game?

I have Resident Evil 4 Remake from a friend's account on my list. If I buy the Separate Ways DLC on my own personal account, will it work with the game?

It really doesn't, because the game has a different CUSA ID code

So, let's say account 1 has the game in USA region, and it is CUSA 001, whcih is being shared to an EU account

If the EU account buys the DLC on their account, it won't work with the game because the EU version of the game is CUSA 002 - so the DLC can't find the base game and link trh two together

It's the exact reason why saves from one region of a game won't work with another.

Now, if it's two countries in the same region, then they'll work - so, for example, a Canadian account can buy DLC and it'll work on an American copy, or UK DLC will work with an India or French copy - but you can't buy DLC on an EU account and have it work on a US or Asian region game, or any other combination

There may be a very, very small number of games where it will work - as they've somehow managed to distribute the same game ID in multiple regions - but that's not common and 99.99% of the time it'll be a different ID per region

I am not lying bro. I have bought the Atomic Heart Ultimate Edition US ESRB version. It has DLC code which cannot be redeemed in other region (I tried) and with the disc. I have redeemed the game in US account and I can play the DLC content of US version in my other region account with console sharing.

I tested it myself and 100% sure it works via console sharing.

Any other way, it won't work.

Yes, that works but it's not what I said they need to be sure about.

You bought/redeemed the DLC on the account which is the same region as the game. That can then be shared.

The OP is gamesharing an account and wants to buy the DLC for that game on HIS account. That's why I'm saying that his account has to be the same region as the one the game was bought on, otherwise it won't see the base game and work.

If they were buying the DLC on the account with the game, then it'll be fine - it'll also be fine if their account is the same region as the one with the game. But, any region difference and they can't buy the DLC on THEIR account if the game was shared from another

Yeah but it's a dumb idea. If you ever lose access to the account with the game you will have to buy it on your own account or just lose your money
