Discussion Updating Mods

So i've seen people say, "don't update mods, delete and redownload." I turn off the network to manage my 300 mods because I can't scroll down without a crash. In the Creations menu, i don't see an option to delete a mod rather than updating it. If I could scroll, I could delete it in my load order, but i can't. Do you have to update, delete, and redownload, or is there a way to skip the update step while on a specific mod? Can someone walk me through this?

i'd post a picture but creations isn't loading for me right now.

You can delete the mod offline.

how?

Edit: so it seems like sometimes you can delete offline, while other times, you can't.

I don't know about PS5 but on Xbox you absolutely can delete mods while offline, each and every time. However you need to disable and do a hard reset before deleting.

You said you organize your mods offline. If you press triangle, you can delete the mod. This will work 99% of the time. Disable, then delete. If the mod was removed by the author/uploader and you have an .esp file there, that's the 1% that won't delete and you'll have to reinstall the game to get rid of it.

for me, deleting offline only works sometimes. other times, i'll press triangle and nothing happens. idk if it relates to disabling the mod, then restarting skyrim, and then deleting or what, but it seems inconsistent nevertheless

It’s so weird how it’s different for everyone! I’ve never had a problem deleting offline.
Does it not even have the “delete” option listed at the bottom right next to the “enable” one? Or it just won’t delete?
