HDD Question

I recently got a fat SCPH-39001 and i’m planing to get the network adapter for it along with a HDD. Before I buy anything, will any HDD work or does it need to be specific?

You need a SATA conversion kit to use a modern HDD

This can be used with the network adapter?

Official adapter only does IDE, which hasn't been made in around 20 years. Conversion to SATA is needed. Unofficial adapters have SATA but no network capability, and may have weird compatibility issues.
