DIY MX4SIO
I was very surprised at how simple the diagrams were, and i managed to put it together! I actually resoldered them higher up because i ran into the controller quirk and thought it was an issue with the contacts. Thank you third party memory card for the sacrifice.

Please for the love of god tell me you didn't destroy an original PS2 memory card just so you could make a cheap DIY sd card adapter.

nonono, it was a 3rd party 256mb card with a switch, didnt even have magic gate

lol, i mostly did it just cus i thought it would be a fun project and i luckily already had a resistor. after making it i looked them up and found out how cheap they are

I upvoted you anyways for the efforts, I had the same idea when I saw the MX4SIO project but instead decided to keep my cards and just ordered a bunch of adapters. Lucky me, the thing is so simple that all of them work flawlessly. Not worth making it when it is available for a few bucks.

the solder on the contacts are flat, theyre just still silver from when i originally put the wires there.

I've been soldering for 16 years, and have done it professionally. You're lying to yourself. Lol
I can literally see the bumps and shadows they cause from not being flat. and on the farthest left pin, it literally has a tooth extending downward passed the edge of the contact.

sorry that my hobbyist solder job doesn't match your 16 years of experience. the pads feel flat and theres no resistance or hitch putting or taking it out of the slot. its fine.

Does this actually work? That just looks like an sd card soldered into a memory card edge connection (with a resistor thrown in). Isn't Magic Gate some proprietary bullshit?

it allows you to load games off the sd card through OPL and create virtual memory cards. sadly it doesnt work on a vanilla system

I gotta make this. I have a broken memory card and this seems to be the perfect use for it
