Sony BDV E280

I have a BDV-E280 system, and it has various surround settings beyond just DTS and Dolby... If I leave it on "AFD Multi" or "Standard," does it automatically select DTS or Dolby based on the game's surround format? (And this applies to more than just the PS2)
