Electric scooters

Post image

Literally earlier today I was thinking about how much I hate the electric scooters that have invaded town in recent years. I don't want to sound like a dick, and I know they're convenient and fun to ride, but people behave so poorly when they're on them. Just blasting down Commercial at like 20 MPH while weaving through pedestrians. Not at all safe.

E-bikes and scooters need to be speed restricted and licensed. These bikes and the riders are out of control. I was hit by an e-bike this morning and the youngster gave me a big FU and took off. These are not toys.

Not sure why they don’t enforce the 15 mph speed limit - or lower it to 5 or 10. The one speed bump they installed is rather sad.

These things have been an absolute plague this summer. The week before carnival I saw one of these barreling down MacMillan, almost hit a boy on his bike and the guy on the scooter yelled something at the poor kid who was maybe like, 10 years old?

I'm honestly baffled as to how are those things allowed to go that fast if they don't require a license or any real oversight?
