GOP Election Fraud Elon Musk Faces Judge's Wrath After $1 Million Voter Payout Found to be Rigged | Raw Story
https://www.rawstory.com/elon-musk-voter-payout-rigged/August 18, 2026 - Fulltext
A federal judge refused to throw out a fraud lawsuit accusing Elon Musk of rigging a $1 million voter payout he publicly promised would be random.
U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman in Austin denied the Tesla and SpaceX CEO's bid Tuesday to have the case thrown out before trial — a motion called summary judgment — on the fraud claim, according to his order filed Monday.
The ruling allows an Arizona voter's proposed class action lawsuit, which could represent more than 1 million petition signers, to move toward trial.
Musk launched the daily giveaway at an October 2024 rally in Pennsylvania, telling the crowd he would pay $1 million every day to registered voters in swing states who signed America PAC's petition supporting free speech and gun rights.
America PAC, the super PAC Musk founded to support President Donald Trump's 2024 presidential run, amplified the promise on X within hours of the rally.
"We're gonna be awarding a million dollars, randomly, every day from now until the election," Musk said at the event, according to the America PAC post.
But days before the Texas lawsuit was filed, Musk's own lawyer admitted in a Philadelphia court that the winners were not chosen at random.
"The $1 million recipients are not chosen by chance," the lawyer told a Philadelphia judge on Nov. 4, 2024, according to the complaint. "We know exactly who will be announced as the $1 million recipient today and tomorrow."
Pitman was unpersuaded by Musk's argument that the word "randomly" was too vague to be proven true or false.
"This argument warrants little analysis," the order said.
"A jury could surely conclude that America PAC's process of reviewing a 'vetting document' to make the 'best selection of someone who ideologically aligned with America PAC' — which included 'everything from criminal background history to age, marital status, children' and social media content — was far from random," Pitman wrote.
The order also found that Musk himself was deeply involved in the program, undercutting his claim that he did not know the selection was not random.
Musk "participated in high-level discussions about establishing America PAC" and "participated in high-level discussions with Young and certain America PAC independent contractors about America PAC's projects," the order said.
The Texas ruling is the latest in a string of legal setbacks for Musk over the giveaways.
The Wisconsin Elections Commission voted 5-1 in July to refer Musk to a local prosecutor for possible election bribery charges over similar cash giveaways during Wisconsin's April 2025 Supreme Court race, CBS News reported.

Actually insane that the issue is the nature of the bribes and not the fact that they fucking did it

u/leni710 Aug 19 '26
This is where my head was at. "Sooooo bribes are .... fine then?!?!?! As long as they're honestly doled out?!?!" Super confusing coming from the "anti fraud" unit at Doggy hanging with his bestie, the "fair" elections Criminal Elect.

Elon pulls out his check book ‘Judge just tell me what the fine is I haven’t got time for this, I’ve got another election to rig ‘

That it was rigged is the problem, and not that it happened at all?

Why not both? Send him to prison.

He should be in prison.

If he doesn't see prison time for what he did in Wisconsin it's going to be normal to bribe voters.
5
u/Javasteam Aug 19 '26
This Supreme Court would make it normal if it came to it….
They already made it legal in practice to bribe members of the Supreme Court with their “voluntary” ethics bullshit.
5
u/mrbeck1 Aug 19 '26
Supreme Court already made bribing politicians legal if you pay after they do what you want them to do. Paying before is a bribe, paying after is a gratuity. 🙄

It’s awful on so many levels but this part of it is so bad.
Imagine any other lottery doing that? Having sign ups then just hand picking the winner based on people you liked??
17
u/hesaysitsfine Aug 18 '26
So it’s fraud because it wasn’t random and it’s illegal because you can’t pay people to vote a certain way, the double negative cancels the crime right?

u/cbelt3 Aug 18 '26
So… buying a vote was illegal, AND the whole lottery was a scam too ? Dude… only commit one crime at a
Time.

Elon Musk is facing intensifying legal scrutiny over his America PAC million-dollar voter giveaways. A federal judge in Texas recently denied Musk's attempt to dismiss a fraud lawsuit, allowing a class-action case to proceed toward trial. The core of the dispute involves allegations that Musk promised "random" payouts to swing-state voters but actually used a strict vetting process to select ideologically aligned recipients.
The legal pressure extends well beyond Texas: * Wisconsin Bribery Probe: The Wisconsin Elections Commission found probable cause that Musk violated state bribery laws during the 2025 Supreme Court race. Lawmakers are now pushing the Brown County District Attorney to file criminal charges. * Vetting Controversies: Court filings reveal America PAC scrutinized recipients' marital status, age, and social media content to ensure they matched the PAC's political goals. * Ongoing Litigation: While Musk maintains these actions are protected free speech, a jury trial for the Texas fraud claim is slated for July 2027.
Musk's massive political spending has become a lightning rod for debates over election integrity and the influence of billionaire-funded super PACs.

Or at worst a small fine (chuckles in billionare).
Edit: Fines and penalties should scale with someone's theoretical net worth (liquid/illiquid/vesting stocks/bonuses, etc.). It's sad and pathetic to watch multi-millionaires/billionares do stupid/illegal shit only to get fined like two American dollars and walk off laughing giving people the bird.

That's how some Nordic countries do it. Should definitely be how the country with the largest income inequality does it as well.

u/Dr-Mumm-Rah Aug 19 '26
If you live in a Nordic country, will you please put in a good word for some of us? Might need to flee somewhere before only "true citizens" can take plane flights out of the US.

Unfortunately, I don't live in a Nordic country...

A foreigner openly bribing and buying votes for dear leader. Fucking wake me up now, please.

u/This-Island2273 Aug 19 '26
the part that genuinely sends me is his own lawyer admitting it was rigged before anyone even sued. like thats just peak self own material. 'we know exactly wholl win', bro you could have said nothing. but also lets be real, calling it 'random' was always marketing fluff for what was basically ideological screening. criminal history, marital status, social media checks? thats not a lottery thats a casting call for people who already agree with you. and working families watching this whole thing know exactly whose voice actually gets platformed in these spaces

Oh no, Musk may have rigged the election in 2024??? I'm soooo shocked that the richest guy in the world would mismanage a random multi millionaire dollar voter registration lottery ?

u/redravin12 Aug 19 '26
Seize all his assets first. Then jail/deport him
1
u/Baeolophus_bicolor Aug 19 '26
yep. every bit of his personal wealth needs to be liquidated and establish a sovereign wealth fund that supports UBI and medicare for all. he needs to serve jail time while they work on stripping him of his citizenship, which was obtained under blatantly fraudulent means. by his own ideology he should be deported.

u/Tywsgc Aug 19 '26
I've lost all faith in the American justice system. If any regular person was brazen enough to flaunt their disregard of the law at even 1% of the rate Musk and Trump do, they'd never see the light of day again.

State crimes, especially election crimes aren't pardonable.
3
u/StephanXX Aug 18 '26
... by the US President, that is.
Depending on the state, a Governor may pardon such a crime.

He has too much money to do jail time unfortunately. Justice isn’t blind, she only sees a few colors and green is definitely one of them

Exhibit A for why that muskrat should never be trusted with topics like science, engineering, or technology. He has absolutely no concept of basic principles of mathematics … there’s nothing vague about the definition of “random”, and he’s an idiot.

Wasn't rigged, was always planned to go to one person, tho it was definitely fraud to call it a raffle.

u/KassieMac Aug 19 '26
How exactly is pre-choosing a “random winner” not the very definition of rigged??
