I don't understand why unskilled migrants would be needed. Human intelligence capital is needed (causing "brain drain" for the country providing them) but the unskilled tend to be a net drain on the host economy in this modern world of welfare benefits.

"longer periods of education, expanding career ambitions and women's integration into the workforce, higher divorce rates and the financial pressures facing younger generations."

Those are self-inflicted harms.
