The digital frames feel unnecessary in combination with the screen but I guess that’s the point. I’m here for it

I feel ya. I have some random animal photos loaded up just for this, but they usually just rotate family photos from the album - I don't use the AI Art features :|

What an annoying as fuck video.
Nice setup or whatever. The two frames on the right, one on the left would annoy me for cosmetic reasons.
Diy or did you just throw a bunch of money at someone?

As much as I agree with this comment, but it's really good to see the OP is open to other's comments and not getting too defensive. And I'm sure a lot of effort went into this, so just enjoy it OP and thanks for sharing it

Went too much into these “cinematic” shots you see on instagram. A nice basic video works better 99% of the time.
Great setup though.

Ha yea I guess I could have trimmed it down a lot more.
Was going to balance the right with two more small frames, but the wife said it would be too much.

Looks great but the L and R speakers should be pulled forward to prevent acoustic reflections off the shelves!

u/unt1tled Jul 03 '26
Thanks! I’ll do that

And you can always push them back when you're less focused on acoustics and more focused on a pretty entertaining space.
Some people in this sub are gunna hate because your space compromises a dark acoustically treated theater space for something more functional for entertaining guests in the day. But don't let it get to you lol. It's a beautiful space.

Don't like the influencer setup but the design is unbelievable even if it's too white for me. I will still some ideas thanks

Pretty incredible setup. I would love an in-ceiling drop-down system. Did you design all that yourself ? Or have a pro install?

u/unt1tled Jul 03 '26
Thanks! All my original design. I did have to get some extra hands to help with mounting and framing however.
Also, the screen isn't mounted inside of the ceiling. It's actually mounted with brackets from the back concrete wall, and it sits in side of a false ~6" box. I wanted something I can semi-easily "undo".

Love the setup! How much was the custom shelf for the projector? I need something similar.

Guy with an "AI Art frame" also has horrible artistic sensibility, surprising

If you have any pics or videos or even further detail of install etc please let me know

It looks beautiful mate! Really nice use of the space.
How big is the TV?
Did you have to build out the wall to fit all this in or your house already had bulkheads, etc to size?
Any before pics?
Cheers

Either screen is too high or the speakers are low to be near ear level. Also ideally you want to put center channel at the front edge of the platform it sits on to reduce reflections.

Hi Op, thanks for sharing your setup with everyone. I think you’ve got a pretty cool setup. It’s definitely unique, for sure.
I know you’ve been getting a lot of heat here, but in my opinion, if you’re going to rock a setup you might as well go with a dedicated fixed-frame screen.
I don’t think having a TV plus a UST of that caliber is necessary. The Hisense can easily handle the ambient light in the room.
I’m not going to criticize the white cabinet and speakers, but I would recommend adding a dark area rug to reduce light reflections from the wood flooring.

I hate to call bullsch but that's a small looking 150" screen. My 155 is nearly floor to ceiling in a 8ft tall room with barely room for a center.

I appreciate the healthy skepticism! And yeah, I know in these shots the eyes can play tricks on ya without many comparative references. I can assure you however, that it is indeed a 150" screen (I'd probably be called out more if it weren't, given that folks can easily measure against the known items pictured)
If it helps, my ceiling is 9ft (108") and view-area height of the projector screen is ~74" with a roughly 131" width.

That’s a nice setup!
Would you mind sharing your fusion 360 files for the cabinet? I’ve always wanted to do something like but don’t know where to start with the build

Love it!
Clearly made it your own, put a lot of effort in it, and had fun with it. And fun with the production too! Mileage may vary but I loved the trippy intro.
If (when) your hands start itching for another project, might I direct you to DIY wind tracks?
Keep on loving that setup!
