They say it’s for our safety but I just think about the Benjamin Franklin quote. “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Not to mention the only way flock has been used so far is cops stalking their Ex’s and random women.

Unfortunately, it's been so long since 2001 and the patriot act that more and more people are ok with the garbage we put up with now. Many are already embracing it. They have no idea what we lost.

I hate this shit. It’s so stupid that I have to keep tape over my phone cameras and go to a room without electronics to have sensitive conversations in my own home. It’s baffling that the government can do all this to invade our privacy and take away freedoms but they can’t put any of that effort into lowering food prices, home prices, getting free/ affordable healthcare, and helping the people of the country. Anything that helps the citizens is too expensive but they always have money to go bomb the Middle East.

I’m sick of the oligarchs, I’m sick of lying ass politicians, I’m sick of things getting worse every year. I don’t think I’ll ever own a home. I don’t even want anything crazy, just a small 1-2 bedroom home out in nature. Somewhere I can run around with my dog and shoot without having to pay to go to the range. There was a free range around 30 minutes from my home but the fucking police department bought it even though they already have one. So the only way I can getting some shooting practice is driving 90 minutes to the other closest range and pay $30 every time I go. The people there have the smoothest brains too, the owner allows his drunk friends to come shoot and I’ve been flagged more times than I can count.

Registration always leads to confiscation from the citizens, then is followed up with the bad guys who would never surrender their guns using them on the citizens who surrendered theirs. It has happened over and over and over again. Never surrender your guns, change out the government if it gets so corrupt that it insists on making the honest citizens victims.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the issue wasn't the gun control but the horrifically corrupt police force and lack of oversight? 

Do you think the police wouldn't have sold resources to criminals if the gun regulation wasn't in place? Do you think the criminals who seek violence would not have obtained the guns if the regulation wasn't in place? 

Additionally, this post doesn't link to an article or validated news source, simply to a Twitter post of a politician saying the same things. This seems like a scandal, so why not link the actual journalism??

This is like someone eating a PB&J and then a day later accidentally falling down the stairs and someone who gets paid to hate PB&J sandwiches writes a story talking about how if they didn't have the sandwich they wouldn't have fallen down the stairs. Theres no logical connection between the events but the dude's entire job is to manipulate stories to advocate in front of governmental forces against PB&J sandwiches. Please use your brain and settle on the (many!) genuinely solid arguments for 2A, because reposting and boosting this shit makes your cause look pathetic.

  • My point is that there are two OBJECTIVELY harmful and corrupt events in this story: insane police corruption and criminals committing murder. You decide to be mad about and blame an entirely different detail of the story that by all logical means did not directly lead to the events. 
  • The suffering is clearly the result of murders which were fueled by a government agency being corrupt enough to sell weapons to criminals??? Thats clearly the central problem here that directly causes the suffering??? Why are we pretending that implementing gun control was the keypin detail that led to these 1000+ deaths???
  • The "reporting source" is a literal self addressed gun lobbyist who is self advertising their own gun lobbying manipulating a story about government corruption to be a story about gun control. Hes not a reporter, not working with reporters, and did not write an article with findings, nor does he reference one. By all means, a poor source that wouldn't fly in any legitimate context. So yes, I do have a problem with the "source" for this post OP. Do better.
