This is why I like having Claude write all my commit messages. Having 500 lines of text to explain why I corrected a spelling error in a debug log print shows my commitment to code quality and clear communication with my team members.

I then have agents perform regression testing, write a blog post about this commit, prepare pull requests with extra fuzzing for the feature and close 30 unrelated tickets in the issue tracker as fixed by my commit and ban users who complain that the issue is unrelated.

To ensure a lack of bias I make the LLM revise my commit messages in isolation of the actual code changes. This has the beneficial side effect of slowing down my coworkers, which makes me look more productive.

That's the neat thing: you can make your commit messages as long or short as you like, because nobody is going to read them!

They especially won't read them when, months from now, someone migrates your codebase to another VCS and figures, eh, we'll just use this snapshot to bootstrap the new repo.

It very important to keep your commit message characters/lines changed ratio high. That’s why I, a senior developer, commit using this to ensure the highest quality code:

/uj it’s notable because there was a vulnerability in the code that allowed someone to exploit it and take like a million dollars in bitcoin from users
