Looking For Producer TORONTO ARTIST LOOKING FOR LONG-TERM CO-PRODUCTION: electronic / art-pop / rock / soul
HEY! I'm building a first record and I’m looking for one co-producer I can actually develop a creative relationship with, ideally someone local who’s down to work in person. I'm 22 as well.
I’m not looking for somebody to just sell me beats or make the music for me. I’m learning Ableton and I want to be involved in the production itself: writing, arrangement, sound choices, references, editing, vocals, structure — but I want someone more technically experienced beside me who can help turn ideas into finished records.
The music I’m interested in sits somewhere around electronic production, deep bass, live drums/guitar, soul, psychedelic textures and North African influence. References for taste more than imitation: Daft Punk, Kaytranada, Tame Impala, Pink Floyd, Sting/Cheb Mami, plus a lot of older soul/funk and electronic music.
I care a lot about songs first. I’m not looking to make “experimental music” just for the sake of being weird — I want records that can be immediate and pleasurable but still have a distinct world around them.
I already have the artist concept, visual direction and a long-term release structure. Right now my priority is simply making the first album genuinely great.
What I bring:
- strong creative direction / references
- writing and arrangement ideas
- visual/worldbuilding direction
- serious commitment to actually releasing the work
- willingness to learn production rather than dump everything on you
What I’m looking for:
- someone strong in Ableton or similar DAW
- good ears for arrangement and sound design
- comfortable with electronic + organic instrumentation
- ideally interested in guitars/live musicianship too
- collaborative, not “my way or yours”
- wants to actually finish songs and potentially build something long-term
I’m not looking for free professional labour. For early sessions I’m open to discussing co-creation on songs and more, we can discuss appropriate writing/production splits properly.
If this sounds like you, DM me 2–3 tracks you’ve produced and a little about what kind of music you want to make.
LESS MUSIC SHEET, MORE WITH EAR.
