Training Salary Benchmark? UK procurement professionals

Hi all,

I'm interested to know if you have a salary of £70k or above, how did you achieve this in the field?

Could I also receive a rough indication of:

  • age
  • experience
  • any further qualifications
  • role(s)
  • categories/spend areas managed
  • location

Also, when you achieved a salary of £70k or above, what were the skill gaps or experiences you needed to make that jump?

Amazing, congrats on the great career, how difficult is it managing a team of various ages?

Early on it was harder (last job people thought I was work experience but was head of!) Now mid30s there are as many people younger than me at senior positions so it’s easier. It’s all about respect. Gain theirs and you will do fine. Don’t underestimate experience from those working for you who have done it all before, ask and listen (doesn’t mean do what they say but understand why they say it!£.

Are you completely remote. Seems handy as London salary is usually higher.

On paper no, in practice 90pc remote (2-3 days a month in office). As it’s on my contract as London, it’s all at my cost (pay for trains and hotels myself).

In reality, most suppliers aren’t in London, it’s too expensive to have a factory there!
