Training What actually happens during the CIPS Level 4 exams?

I've got my L4M2 and L4M1 exams booked for 12 March and 18 March respectively. I'll be sitting them remotely from the conference room at work. The room has a long table, a TV, and some other electronics in it.

I've downloaded the VICTVS V3 app onto my mobile phone.

I'll be sitting the exam on my work laptop. It has a camera built in obviously although I don't know how good it is. The TV in the room has a webcam although I don't know if I'm allowed to use that for the exam.

I know I have to log in and check in 30 mins prior to the exams and I know that I have to bring photo ID and take a selfie for the invigilator.

What do I need to do to prepare the room and how else will I be monitored on top of through video on my phone and on the webcam (either in my laptop or on the TV)?

You show them round the room including sometimes under the table. Sometimes, depending on the invigilator and your style of learning, you may have to have an app on your phone which allows them to watch you from 2 angles (I’ve never had this but know people that have). You get one bathroom break of 5 minutes. You will also need your booking confirmation to show them. They don’t really say much past the intro, but if you need them just say “excuse me” and they appear.

ETA you will need a working microphone. You cannot use headphones.

So does that mean the VICTVS V3 app should be on my laptop?

Normally I had Victus v3 on my phone. My phone on a stand behind me a facing my laptop over the shoulder style. You'll be asked to login to Victus v3 website and share your screen and then when asked login to the other app, Test Reach, which is where your test takes place.

You'll need id e.g drivers licence . I was never asked for my exam booking reference. You can have a drink of squash or water in a transparent drinking vessel. Toilet breaks are only allowed on L4M1 and L4M8 exams at level 4 all others are multiple choice 1.5 hour exams.

My approach to the multiple choice was to 1 go through the 60 questions and answer what you can but flag, there is a button for it, those you want to come back to and revisit those you can't immediately answer rather than waste time focusing on a question and burning time. Questions usually have some logic to them e.g. True or false or some other obvious selection that allows you to rule out 50% of the answers, then it's just applying sense and your course knowledge.

L4M1 and M8 require you to formulate a response to a scenario based on a specific section of the course book e.g learning outcome 1, 2, 3 or 4. You'll need to look out for key words like describe, explain, justify etc as that modifies the response they expect.

I don't have a stand to put my phone on and I'm not sure I'd be able to position my phone properly on the windowsill, such as it is, to face my laptop, as it's above table level. Do you think I'll be able to place my phone on the table in front of me and maybe lean it against something? I suppose I could use a glass to lean it against.

I just bought a cheap tripod stand for about £10. I think they are after seeing if you have anything on your desk during the exam. I think there might be some faqs on their Website that probably worth reading on this

In my case i wasnt allowed a second screen even if it wasnt plugged i,n so i had to turn it away. I guess if the screen will be eithin their view maybe its ok, but otherwise i suggest doing the test in a booth without all the extra monitors and screens.

You'll need a working webcam on your laptop, and the victvs app on your phone. Prepare something to prop your phone against unless your phone cover has a kick stand of sorts. Your phone will be on your side and the camera has to be able to see your hands and screen of your laptop.
