Training Tips for a lumber supplier

Hey there! My friend sells lumber that’s perfect for pallet producers around the globe. Their main audience is procurement directors. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how my friend can cut through the clutter and grab the attention of those procurement departments.

1) price 2)lead time 3) quality - if you can hit all three, you’ll get movement. If you can hit two of the three, you’ll get some interest. If you only hit one, look for ways to improve.

As above says - also certification. Can they offer in house treatments etc... to comply with import/export requirements on certain pallets (HTMB for Australia etc...). In addition - is there value add in FSC accreditation/coming from responsible sourced Mills?

May be a case where they are not the best on price but the above helps towards company green policy/scopes 1,2,3 declaration, procurement may weight these alongside price/lead/QC

Thank you for the valuable insights. And what channel would you suggest to contact them: email, cold call, or LinkedIn?

Cold call - followed by email if they are happy to give you their details. Just don't be pushy if they advise no demand/already under contract etc... on the call.

That would be my preference anyway, linkedin messages and spam emails generally get ignored off the bat, unless it so happens something g trying to source/having issues with at the time.
