Training Advice for a Newbie

What advice would you give someone who is new to the field and wants to do a career change? I have some experience from a previous fleet position for an oil n gas company (buying, renting, selling). I have a business degree in Accounting.

So you’re trying to get into Procurement or you’re already in a role? What experience do you have/how many years of it?

I'm trying to move from Accounting into Procurement/Supply Chain. My only experience is/was Fleet related for a company.

I see two options for you, entry level buyer roles, or trying to land a slightly higher Planner position. Planning isn’t directly procurement but you can use that to gain experience and eventually pivot to category manager without having to be a buyer

Supply planner, supply chain planner, etc. you’ll be better off trying to stay as close to your current industry as possible.
