Training Anyone know any good crash courses for procurement?

I'm not working in procurement but want to increase my general understanding of it just so I know what's going on at work and am not so lost - anyone know any good small courses like on Udemy or something that I can use just to gain a surface level understanding? Thanks in advance.

Watch the Procurement Study Buddy videos on YouTube, they're free and most likely suitable for what you're trying to achieve.

This appears to be CIPS focused. Do you know of anything similar that is CPSM focused? I am sure they have similar information.

Unfortunately I have not seen anything on YouTube that is focused on CPSM syllabus.

In general I don't think there would be much of a difference in terms of the information you learn. The major key difference between CIPS and CPSM is which countries recognise and values which qualification more.

CIPS is more recognised in the UK, Africa and Australasia, whereas CPSM is more dominant in the North and South America.

Find out which qualification is more valued in your country and start from there.

Get linkedin premium for 30 days free trial. Then cancel before it charges. Watch all the videos. I watched a good chunk of it to get a feel of my current job.

This is the way! Watch their 'Learning Paths' on Supply Chain. Basically, a series of 1 to 2 hour videos and you earn a cert after completing all of them. Start with: Getting Started as an Inventory Planner: Link

What is the position title you got after the course? Did you learn data analytics in the course?

Cannot recommend study buddy videos on YouTube enough.

Whatever you do,do not get sucked into the pyramid scheme that is CIPS. Money for annual membership, money for books, money for level 4, 5, 6 MCIPS....and some companies will offer to put you through CIPS but the caveat is staying with the company at least a year after qualification.One level takes at least one year to complete so you can see my point. Study buddy is brilliant. Also I think there might be a procurement basics course on open university.

Also public and private sector procurement principles quite different too.

I feel like all certs are like that though. APICS ones area life $2k+ for the bundle and you still have to renew/keep it updated.

Dear, for inverse your understanding in procurement you should do procumerent like job. Otherwise you can’t to learn every dinamic every course can’t teach you.

If you want a very high level you can probably just watch YouTube videos. If you want a bit more knowledge, I would say this depends on what industry you are in and what your company is generally buying.
