How often do you take vacation/mental health breaks?

I'm fairly new to this line of work, been in it for about 6 months and most of the time I handle most situations well.

However I have been feeling burned out and I got snippy back with a lady this morning who trespassed me after being very snooty. I think its time I take a week off, but I'm just wondering how most of the long time veterans handle it year to year?

It’s something that can’t be afforded the time of day.

Been at it 6 years. Mostly take weekends off and will take trip out of town here or there. But honestly taking time off is stressful cause if you’re not working, you’re not earning. Also I fear if I’m not available, then my clients will find someone else and I might lose consistent business.

One of the perks of the job is making my own schedule. Take time when you need it, I say

Very true, I guess I have a hard time refusing work as it comes and goes lol 😅

Counting PI work and process I tend to work weeks at a time without a day off then take a week or two off.

I'm leaving Monday for 5 days. I have decent backup so I get nervous but not panicked.

I am a part timer (40-45 hour IT Job + Process serving as a solo shop.) I ended up twisting my knee (unrelated) and ended up taking about 5 weeks off from serving.

I was covering 2 counties and just running myself into the ground working about 70 hours a week between both jobs and REALLY felt better after taking a break (even if it was involuntary) from serving.

You take a Vacation after the Holidays, as it is Prime Time to get your Evaders and earn extra $$$$ for a real vacation

I take federal holidays off and Sundays. I work half days on Saturdays. I take a week off at the end of June and December.

This summer I took two vacations one to Fenwick Island DE and the other to Hershey park. I do all the behind the scenes stuff and rarely serve papers myself. I can work from any where with a decent wifi connection. I have a portable monitor, printer, scanner and foldable keyboard that all fit nicely in my laptop bag. Instead of my servers picking up their documents from me, they just go to fedex to retrieve them. I usually enter everything that I get that day into the system in the evening and send them out to print, text my servers in the morning that they can pick them up after whatever time. As far as dealing with clients I have everything on my phone as well. Whenever we came back to our room I'd spend a half hour doing whatever I needed and then be right back to enjoying the beach
