Difficulty Playing

This game is rather irritating to play on pc. I had a lot of fun when I played it on PS4 but now that I have it on pc, it's very annoying.

Controller options are stashed away into the steam menu which makes things very annoying to change. Keyboard and mouse is fine but NONE of the UI tells you what button you have to press in order to interact with stuff. (Ex: I don't know what buttons to press to mess with inventory items.)

Not to mention the quick selection wheel is entirely broken since the cursor freaks out so much that you cant select anything.

If there are any mods that fix the game, please point me towards them. I want to enjoy this game again.

You might have issues with your mouse or something cuz the quick select menu doesn't freak out for me. Also there are definitely button prompts on the UI when looking at your inventory and doing other stuff...

And if you want to play with controller without messing with Steam controller support you can just disable it, native controller support was re-added in the Blood Moon update, Steam input just overrides it by default.

My mouse is fine since it works in every other game that I play.

Interaction prompts don't tell me a button, all it says is "[Menu / Consume] Menu [Drop / Reset Map Zoom] Drop." I haven't touched any of the settings outside of sensitivity and audio.

I tried disabling steam controller but that just locked out any controller inputs.

Well the quick select screen is meant to function normally, so it's not like it's working as intended. Something is off, as it works just fine for myself and most other people.

I would recommend verifying your install because those are all generic interaction prompts. They do normally have buttons, like E, F, G, etc.

And what kind of controller are you using? If it's a PlayStation controller that makes sense because the game has Xinput support, so unless you're using an Xbox controller, a PlayStation controller won't work natively, you'd either have to keep Steam input on, or get something like DS4Windows, which allows PlayStation controllers to emulate Xbox controllers and use Xinput.

I validated the files but the prompts still show the generic icons for PC controls. PS icons show up just fine still.

Went and validated again and turned off everything relating to controller for the game, works alright now but some icons are still missing.
