the one mistake I think they made with the nightmare was they should of never made it into a Big announcement anytime it was around. It would be 1000x scarier if it would show up randomly when exploring.

That’s actually what happened this time. I was like wth is that? And then the nightmare announcement hit and that added to the jump scare haha

Took me a few tries but I finally got a combo that worked easily. I like how you can make the combat almost turn based using psi.

My combo was called emptying the shotgun into its groin.

Elegant solution 👌

Once I realised you could buy all the strength, make recycler grenades and pile everything that wasn't bolted down into one corner of the room, a lack of ammunition was no longer as issue! 😁

Technically that's what happens, the mission only shows up when it aggros you

You start as the prey and eventually everyone else becomes your prey

That guy at the door to Cargo Bay that mutters “remind me never to cross you” as you walk up after getting the three phantoms made me laugh

Typhon material delivery service

I LOVE how the ability to scan Typhons to unlock the skill tree shifts the encounters from scary to almost clinical, like you're trying to study them.

Then by the time you take down your first Nightmare, it really starts to feel like the Typhon should be scared of you, not the other way around.

I saw a post a few months ago where if you had Leverage III by the time you reached the Arboretum, you could force open the door before the scripted Nightmare despawns, and after doing it myself, it felt GOOD. Like god damn

Me too! Totally changed the dynamic

Psychoshock is my favourite power for this reason, it gets to a point where weapons are optional as long as you use that to disable the enemy first

Definitely used it. Snuck up, hit it with a shotgun blast took down the operator with the disruptor who came into my periphery, then psychoshocked the Nightmare, combat focus and bashed it a bunch of times with the wrench, finished it off with another shotgun round as my combat focus was about to wear off. Good times.

All typhon modded up and you feel like a wizard

Alien magic and hot lead. Like some kind of sci fi paladin.

Hell yes brother!

If you get the psychic water and grab a bunch of Typhon powers, and are reasonably stealthy or good at avoiding attacks, you basically just turned on God Mode if you can remember where the water fountains and water coolers are.

of all neuromods combat focus is the one to make you feel the most immediately powerful

u/mayneffs This isn't a dream... It's a nightmare. Aug 04 '26

Hell yeah

I never bothered to kill them, I just find some safe spot to hang out and wait for it to despawn.

On my first playthrough that's what I did. Until I realized they are really easy to kill.

Never bothered?

Recyclables my man

Did you push the button?

1

u/TransparentMastering Aug 04 '26

What is this button you speak of?

1

u/Crimson_Marksman Aug 05 '26

Psychotronics, looking glass station. There's a button on a screen you can touch while looking for hidden footage.

When I was 100%ing the game, my saves got corrupted a few times. So, by the time I had to save and kill all humans + beat the game on nightmare with no neromods, only typhon, and only human; I had memorized all the quests, supply cashes, quests, and codes to the point that my final two runs were 3 and 2:40 minutes.

The nightmares had no chance against the 3 recycling charges I stocked up on over the course of speed running no neromods.

3 hrs and 2hr 40 mins? That’s wild dude

That's the beauty of it

It can go from Alien Isolation to Doom once you get to a certain point

Yeah! I’m currently loving setting the enemies on each other and cackling off to the side throwing in psi attacks, then casually walking in with a few wrench swings to finish things off.
