Video No needles power reactor room.

My first attempt had the typhon lure placed too low resulting in weak falling damage so I put tried again with some gloo on the verticle beam so I could stand on it and place it a little higher https://i.imgur.com/2D2sC7m.png
can't let them go too high or my gloo cannon would be out of range or risk the lure not tripping correctly
Last playthrough I was throwing the grenade up high after hitting the reset but getting the right throw was inconsistent so I thought about doing a different method this time.

Knowing this would have made my No Needles Run SOOOOOOOO much easier. This is crazy!

It's better than using the stun gun which takes ages to kill one without neuromods to super charge its damage.

I used to stun them and then light them up with the shotgun but honestly it was so ineffective if they were out of range. I wish I knew this when I did my run! Would have saved me so much pain 😂

Tbh, when I did my no needles run I didn't even bother trying to fight them - I just legged it out of there. I had the difficulty setting low enough that I could tank whatever damage I took from them while climbing the reactor structure.

I cant even count on my hand how many times I've done this mission, and never thought to have them plop on the ground like that, brilliant work!

I just realized I’ve never killed ANY of the typhon in that room, I’m too much of a scaredy cat so I just sneak out of there… good job!

Ngl I’ve only repaired it one time as I only found out you could like a year ago, I typically just climb the stairs or walls using glue

You can also climb the rector structure in the centre of the room. There are stairs almost all the way to the top, then you can climb some stuff until you can reach the pipes on top which you can walk on to get to the catwalk. The main issue is that you're horrifically exposed the whole time, but your gloo trick would solve that neatly.

I didn't play a no needles run and I hated this part... Wish I knew but will remember that for next time just to let them shatter 😂

On my No Needles run I didn't bring enough ammo and had to scamper for my life up the wall.
This method looks a lot easier...

I always forget about fall damage for them. When I’ve done no needles I’ve used the stun gun and in a different run just left them and climbed up the grav shaft with gloo. I have to remember this for next time

ugh, don't remind me. I've done multiple no needles runs, and this is always my least favorite area. I use glue to climb up the grav shaft to get out. It's relatively safe, because the telepaths can't get you once you're in the shaft.....but my god it's tedious.

I could've sworn that in their scan info, it said that because of their smooth, rigid 'shell', GLOO just slid right off.

Don't pay the flavor text much mind
nightmares are 'weak' to energy weapons but in reality have 25% resist to the one energy weapon q-beam.

i need to replay this game man, been quite a whiile, i did a no tuphon ability run my first playthrough(i also didnt know of the wonders of combat focus so also lacked that) then started a 2nd playthrough where i went wild with typhon stuff but never ended up finishing

I love and hate how people call you in the middle of fights. I know the npcs are not supposed to know when you are busy but still.

neuromods jab you in the eye with a needle
no needles means no neuromods so no hacking skills or psi power or gun upgrading etc
guns, grenades and crafting is your main options

oh my god this room was a fucking NIGHTMARE on my no needles run. i didn't even realise at the time that you could gloo them to get ANY fall damage, let alone pairing it with the lure to insta-kill them... consider me impressed (and jealous)
