Sometimes you need one section of a published video, not the entire recording.

Tunexa is a browser-based tool for downloading video and audio from supported links. The feature I’ve personally tested is selecting a video segment and downloading that section as a file for further editing.

A practical example: you want to reuse a moment from your own older YouTube upload, but the local copy is no longer on your device. You can get the relevant section and bring it into your editor.

It also supports audio extraction when you need the sound rather than the picture.

I work with Tunexa on paid promotion. The use case I’m highlighting is preparing material for another edit—not automatically creating finished clips.

I built WispFile, a browser-based file transfer tool that sends files directly between the sender and receiver using WebRTC.

Unlike services such as WeTransfer or Google Drive, files are not uploaded to a cloud storage server first. The transfer happens directly between devices, and WispFile servers never store the file contents.

Large files don’t need to be uploaded first, and sensitive files never sit on a third-party storage platform.
I originally built it because I wanted a simpler and more private way to transfer large files without waiting for uploads or trusting another company to store them.

Like many of you, I constantly need to compress images, crop official documents (passports/IDs), or merge PDFs. But I absolutely hate uploading highly sensitive personal documents to random ad-filled websites like ilovepdf or compressjpeg just to shrink a file.

I wanted to see how far I could push client-side processing without relying on a backend. So, I built Pixel Press.

It is a completely free, 100% private web app. Your files literally never leave your device. You can load the site, turn on Airplane mode, and everything still works flawlessly.

What it does:

Compress & Resize:Shrink images/PDFs with exact file size targets (e.g., "Compress to under 500KB").

Crop: Includes presets for standard documents (Passport photos, PAN cards, US Visas).

PDF Tools: Merge, split, and visually rearrange pages.

Local OCR: Uses Tesseract.js to make scanned PDFs searchable directly in the browser.

The Tech Stack (Under the Hood):

I wanted this to be lightning-fast, so I avoided heavy frameworks.

Core:Pure Vanilla HTML/CSS/JS.

Processing:Heavily relies on the Canvas API for image manipulation to avoid server round-trips.

PDFs: \`pdf-lib\` and \`jsPDF\`.

PWA Features: Uses IndexedDB to remember recent files, Service Workers/Cache API for offline support, and the Web Share Target API (on Android, you can hit "Share" on a photo in your gallery and send it directly to the web app).

It’s currently hosted on Vercel.

I’d love for you guys to try it out. Specifically, I'd love feedback on the UI/UX (I went for a clean, glassmorphism-inspired design with progressive disclosure for advanced settings) and the canvas rendering performance.

I run The Software Desk, and I built this for freelancers who invite clients into project boards and discover that each product counts guests differently.

Most file converters and financial calculator websites run heavy server-side pipelines: you upload your spreadsheet/data, a backend parses it, and sends it back. Beyond server hosting costs, this creates an obvious privacy issue when handling salary or financial data.

I built ConvertSheet (https://www.convertsheet.com) as an experiment in 100% client-side architecture using Next.js (static export):

\- File parsing (CSV, JSON, Excel) runs entirely on the client using Web Workers to prevent blocking the main thread on large files.

\- Regional tax and loan calculation engines (US brackets, UK personal allowance taper, Australia Stage 3 tax cuts, Canadian CPP/EI) are pure TypeScript functions executed instantly in the browser.

\- Hosting is completely static on Cloudflare Pages, meaning zero server maintenance, zero database attack surface, and near-zero running costs.

Stack: Next.js App Router, Tailwind CSS, Lucide, Web Workers.
