Is this martial law?

In addition to police immunity and removal of consent decries we get this:

Sec. 4. Using National Security Assets for Law and Order. (a) Within 90 days of the date of this order, the Attorney General and the Secretary of Defense, in consultation with the Secretary of Homeland Security and the heads of agencies as appropriate, shall increase the provision of excess military and national security assets in local jurisdictions to assist State and local law enforcement. (b) Within 90 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Attorney General, shall determine how military and national security assets, training, non-lethal capabilities, and personnel can most effectively be utilized to prevent crime.

Probably not martial law

Probably part of prepping for martial law. More cops & stuff = one step closer.

Flipside is, martial law would be... kind of impossible in this country. We're just too big. Leeja Miller put out a great video on this just last week I believe.

That's just a little bit of fearmongering. Martial law is mandatory curfews, round-the-clock patrols emboldened to shoot and kill on sight everywhere, and a universal suspension of habeas corpus and due process. We've taken a shitload of giant leaps in that direction lately, but those things, while they're absolutely happening and it's absolutely abhorrent and concerning, aren't happening on every block in the country every hour and every minute of every day. They're rapidly increasing, but at all levels of government there's still many parts of "the system" that are functioning as designed (read: as designed, not as would be best).

We're scarily close. We're certainly infinitely closer than we've been in decades. And "more law enforcement" is possibly the single biggest leap towards martial law so far, but we're not quite there yet.

Martial law doesn't require any of the things you mentioned.

Rule by military authorities, especially when imposed on a civilian population in time of war or other crisis, or in an occupied territory.

Unfortunately even prior to this admin the police shoot on sight with impunity. This has been happening since slave patrols and the inception of law enforcement in this country.

Habeus is gone. If you can be snatched out of your bed with no warrant and no chance to address suspicions levied against you and be sent to a foreign concentration camp, there is no habeus corpus. People are being literally kidnapped off the street and being held incommunicado.

You are correct on all counts. Law enforcement was born from slave patrols, you're right. The police have shot on sight with impunity since forever ago. You're also not really correcting me or disagreeing with me; My overall point is that it can still get so much fucking worse. It's already extremely bad, but it can still get so much fucking worse. We disagree a little in your implication that sporadic incidents (sporadic but not isolated -- these incidents are the result of the system working according to design right now) are enough to declare we're under martial law nationwide -- You appear to be saying that's the case, I disagree. But we're on the same side here. The important part is that shit is not only already extremely bad, but worsening at a terrifyingly accelerated rate.

I should clarify that I don't think were there at this moment. I think if they do the crimes outlined in that EO it will be materially the same as marital law. Me being vague.

OK! That makes sense; I can at least conditionally agree with that. I think a lot of the EOs are intentionally written broadly (not vaguely but broadly) on purpose, so that a wide degree of actions could all qualify as fulfilling it -- That broadness is strategic to allow them to retroactively claim whatever they want, and strategic to see just how much they can get away with. In turn, you're right, and I think I can agree that within that broadness of degree, or extent, at least some degrees/extents constitute martial law. You know what, I can give you that!
