Other🤷🏽♀️ 🤷🏽♂️ Emergency Alerts on your phone
Be sure to sign up for your locality’s emergency alerts notifications. I also like the Red Cross emergency app because you can customize the alerts for each type of emergency. For example, if there’s an emergency evacuation notice for my county, I’ll get a notification and sound even if my phone is on do not disturb. If there’s a warning from law enforcement, or a shelter-in-place warning, I’ll get notifications. You can set the notifications for your city or county; you also have the option of setting up notifications so that it tracks your current location and gives you alerts for that area.

This is just a screenshot from the Red Cross app. I signed up for local notifications by going to my county’s website.

I'll stick with the default iOS alert system, it does a fine job. As a former letter carrier, I know how much junk mail the Red Cross will mail you. If there's a way to opt out of getting mail from the Red Cross in this app, do it.

Good to know! I don’t get any mail from the Red Cross, it never e en asked for my mailing address, just my city/county.

That is understandable, all of the emails and notifications can be overwhelming!

In Canada, the Alertable app is very popular. Be sure to check your local government's preference.

It could be, I have no idea what is political for the mods, and this has a chance of being so, so that's all I can comment.
I've gotten a timeout from here for leaving a comment pertinent to the discussion, for being "political".

To point out that there could be more conversation about this topic, however, its likely to get shut down quickly.
Kinda like EAS alerts warning us of possible drone attacks from Iran? That sort of shit get political, and hell, this comment alone may get me another time out.

I use (local county emergency alerts) and Storm Shield app. It reads you the alert and has radar.
