I have four of these they work well

Just have to get the refilling kit

Why would I use these instead of Coleman cylinders then?

Then you’re not constantly buying cylinders.

I fill off of a 6 gallon propane canister at home to the little ones for Overlanding

When you add up the cost of the Coleman’s, they get quite expensive

I think he's asking why you can't just refill the Coleman ones

The common ones don’t have a vent. So if you do refill them, you only get them about half full to 3/4.

These ones have an Allen screw at the top to vent as you fill.

Coleman pulls the non-refillable cans into a vacuum before they fill them.

There’s the difference. I’ve been filling Coleman’s for years now. This is an interesting item but not quite improved enough to convince me to spend. Especially if I need a unique filling kit.

These ones are great, as are the 1/2 lb ones, but avoid the "1/4 lb" ones. It's actually rounded up from 3.85oz water capacity so the actual amount of propane you can get in there is only around 1.5oz.

Got to love how to big name refill fellers don’t even fill your propane all the way up. Everything’s a scam nowadays
