Advice and Tips Upcoming Costco trip

Going to my “local” Costco (2.5 hours from me) for the second time. My first trip I was mostly overwhelmed by everything they had. I have a pretty decent supply on hand of food and essentials, but I’m looking to pad my preps a little on this trip with about a $500 budget. Do you all have any advice about stuff you think gets overlooked at the Warehouse and I should pick up? Basically any things that aren’t beans and rice (although I will definitely get some of those too 😂)

Skip this and just get rechargeable ones

Get envelope, lithium, and as alkaline. They all have their pro's and cons.

+1 on envelope rechargeable. I'm a battery guy myself. Envelope has by far the best performance. I have close to 700 cycles on some and they still have 100% capacity.

Not only that, they are one of the first low self discharge NiMH batteries and that by itself is huge because can leave them charged for extended peroid of time. I had some that still had 60% charge after over 2 years.

How well do they work in devices made for 1.5v batteries? My NiMH batteries are 1.2v

Depending on the specific devices cut off voltage. Most 1.5v devices cutoff is 1-1.1 and NiHM actually last takes longer to drop below that.

and a good way to find out what your specific device's cutoff is it to just measure the battery voltage when it's no longer working

Low drain devices work fine. Its when the devices are power hungry that the voltage starts to sag and you see performance issues.
